I will start off with the positiveā¦good facility, very large, clean, has some great amenities like the Sauna. Good amenities for the pricing. In addition, they also offer childcare which is a plus.
Now on the root of my issue with them. I signed up for the Premium package with Crunch. The bells and whistles, top level membership. I was asked when I first joined if I wanted to do a trainer kick off meeting. No one explained what the kick off meeting was except that you met with a trainer to go over stuff. After joining, for the next several times I went into the gym I was asked about the trainer kick off and when I wanted to schedule mine. I kept pushing it off, wasnāt really interested or knew what it was. After being asked about 3-4 times about the kick off, and even getting a call about it, I decided I would try it and see what the heck it was about. I had a area I wanted to work on (core, pelvic floor) as a mom and was thinking maybe they should show me a thing or two. I was weighed on a machine, given my stats and being explained to that Iām un-healthy and high risk for many diseases. For the record, Iām 5ā7 and weigh 168 lbs. I weighed over 230 lbs pregnant with my daughter, so I already had significant weight loss after having her. The entire kick off made me feel like the body I currently have and am happy with, I should be disgusted with. It was approximately 45 minutes going over useless or redundant information. I felt like I wasted 45 minutes that I could have spent working out. At the endā¦I was asked what training package I wanted to sign up for. WHAT!?! I was so shocked at the bait and switch of this. I wasnāt upset that they had training fees,my problem is that NO WHERE online, on paper pamphlet, or employees telling me about this kick off was there ANY mention of fees. I was just disgusted at the sneaky sales tactic of it all. I came from planet fitness where training was free. So maybe that is part of my mistake, but I certainly know I am NOT alone. I wrote the manager about my experience. Their response was so underwhelming. They blamed me ENTIRELY for not knowing the training would cost additional money (yeah cause you donāt list fees or mention fees anywhere). Just trying to help some other mommas and patrons maybe avoid the same mistake and careless manager...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I work in customer service, and let me just say, their customer service doesn't exist. Let me start by saying when I signed up here I asked for the Base membership and to add child care too. The next day I realized they signed me up for peak, so I went to the front desk to express that was NOT what I asked for and I wanted base. The manager (I forget his name) claimed he fixed it. It was never fixed and I was continuously charged for the peak membership despite being told twice it was the Base. I cancelled my membership in October and kept being charged (I had a feeling that would happen due to my experience at crunch Lancaster so I literally blocked the payments from going through with my bank) they kept charging me anyways and charged me for "late payments" so when I called to ask why they were charging me at all that say "we have no record of you cancelling in October and can't cancel your membership until the late payments are taken care of"....it's absolutely absurd how they treated me from start to finish. All because the employees I spoke to each time didn't document it so now I'm paying the consequences and it's so unfair. I have called and expressed that this is so wrong and that I want a refund for all payments from October and after and they said they would "look into it" and then call me back and I never heard a thing back of course. All I want is refunded what's rightfully mine, I just want some good will done. I could say I want the difference of all the payments I made between the base and peak membership on top of everything....im just asking for money back from October when I cancelled through December including the late fees when I had ALREADY cancelled and was paid up in OCTOBER. This is my SECOND horrible experience with crunch and their payments...the Lancaster crunch did a very similar thing to me 3 years ago.
My conclusion of crunch is that they have a high turnover in employees. No one knows what they are doing. They don't want you to cancel so they simply don't allow you to. They have no clue how to handle customer complaints or how make things right with a customer. It's JANUARY and I have no seen a resolution yet and no one seems to be actually...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTL:DR Appears they just want your money. So if you don't have questions or care about the cost and the fees or whats included on each level of membership by all means sign up, but then why are you reading this review?
I came here with my family during the pre enrollment process. There was a separate storefront to sign up and ask questions. They were running several promotions at this time and I wanted to find out more. So the manager was helping other customers so one of the trainers came over to speak with us. The trainer was very nice but did not know much about the overall membership fees and such but did answer some of our questions. we actually had very specific questions that we wanted answered and the manager was aware that we were waiting. After helping the customers prior to us he went on to help another person who came in after us. This was very troubling considering we are chasing around a toddler the whole time while we were waiting for him. It was obvious but he was ignoring us. So the trainer said that crunch fitness tries to build community but I don't believe this manager really cares about the daycare aspect. So for your you parents out there the cost associated with daycare is Bass membership is $15 a month. Then eat traditional tier above that you subtract $5 a month. Hours for daycare are Monday through Sunday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.. during the weekdays there is also 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. daycare. For each additional child I believe you just double the overall cost. Then for guest passes for the higher tiered members are basically base level members amenities. It would be nice if there is a bit more transparency on the website of overall costs and what is included and what is not. Overall The experience made me feel that the owner or manager whatever he was does not really care for children and doesn't care for them to be in the facility. that is why he ignored us and our questions and was just asking us repeatedly to sign up and if you still were signing up. Really bad salesman probably should not have quit his day...
