I am going to share a very honest review which is good and bad. First we went there based on the menu posted online and our son wanted crab legs. They list a Raw Steamer section and that was what we were planning. This dinner was specifically for him prior to leaving for school. On arrival to restaurant atmosphere was questionable. Seems outdated and just a big open space and we actually questioned leaving but decided to stay. When going to order our food we were told the menu online is not correct and is an up and coming menu and they only sell crab legs as add-on's to an entree. Luckily our other son was getting an entree and after a bit of asking allowed our other son to get 3 1/2lbs as an add-on to the other one's meal. The Cream of Crab soup was really good, maybe a little salty if you don't like salt it may not be for you. Full of tasty meat and it is a thicker soup which I liked. The boardwalk fries were very good and a very large portion as a side with a meal. Could eat those any day! The filet my youngest ordered looked amazing and he ate every last bite. Done perfectly for medium rare. MY husband had their onion rings which were very good and to be honest I forget what else. I also had some old Bay wings which were very large fried wing pieces and heavily breaded which is not how I am used to eating them. they were like fried chicken pieces. They weren't bad but were a little dry and I would not eat them again. Wings to me just have the skin fried and then coated with old bay, seasoning or sauce and not a bunch of breading. The crab legs were good according to my oldest son. The kicker was when we got the bill. The menu said 9.95 or something like that per 1/2 lb for an add-on of crab legs but we were charged 11.95 per 1/2lb. When questioned we were told the menu isn't right and it is now market price. I questioned that and was told that the price changed. As the waiter walked away I did voice that when a menu says the price is a certain price then that is what should be charged and really legally is what has to be charged. The waiter stated back as he walked away that they would take the additional charge off. This should not have had to been discussed and fixed without having to make a statement about it. I don't know that we will be back after this experience. May get the soup to go but beyond that it was not the best experience overall. Don't post a menu that is not current and update prices if you plan to charge more than what the menu in your restaurant states. I think it could be a great food place with some changes made. Do not know what the Pub area is like. I originally gave 3 starts but after seeing other reviews that over a month ago the same thing happened to others with the price on the crab legs and were told the exact same thing we were and they still didn't update the menu in the almost month between our visits from theirs. Nope. One star b/c obviously they do not desire to make things right and continue doing stuff...
Read moreMy family and I love going out to eat. We tried this place awhile ago, and it was OK. We wanted to give it another chance today on Friday 7/29/2022, and it was one of the most terrible restaurant experiences. They said they were short staffed, and that’s ok, we get it, so we expected service to be slower than normal, but that’s no excuse for the quality of the food. The snow crab legs and mussels were over cooked and the mussel sauce was sour and had a terrible smell. The mussels were literally shriveled up. My boyfriend never complains, but he did this time and could not eat the mussels. We tried telling them, nicely, about the mussels, but the waitress walked away in the middle of us explaining what was wrong with them - like she did not care. The Long Island iced tea was also way too sweet. The Tito’s and club soda was put in a larger cup, so there was a lot more club soda ratio to vodka, so the next round were felt forced to order a double. The cheesesteak was OK, tasted like steak-ums with store bought nacho cheese. Crab cake had way too much filler, it was super mushy. There was also a group of ladies sitting near us complaining about the size of their crabs and quality of their food also, and they weren’t very nice about it. But we knew then, it wasn’t just our food, it was the food in general that just wasn’t well prepared. We spent $130, and that will be our last time there. Being understaffed is understandable and one thing, but that’s no excuse for the quality of food. I hope they address the kitchen/chef issues. There were also two hostesses that we noticed multiple times playing on their phones and chatting - when they could have been helping the wait staff more. It just seems like a poorly managed restaurant. We were really disappointed, especially with the amount of money we spent. We actually liked the atmosphere with the fishing decor and country music. We just wish the food, staff, and drinks would have...
Read moreThree issues with this place. Took my wife and the kids on our one year wedding anniversary. We sat down and told the waitress, Destiny, that it is our first time here, I asked her what would you recommend. She gave me many suggestions and me and my wife picked the cajun combo, one that she said was good. Everything was great until we got our food. They offered us a booster seat for an 8 month old baby. We said yes, come to find out this booster seat does not have a seat belt. I don't know why they offer one for an 8 month old baby that needs to be buckled. The food was delicious until my wife found something black inside a clam. The waitress rubbed it off and first said it was overcooked, then afterwards, she said it was charcoal. Didn't look nothing like it, plus I don't know why its there in the first place. Then our bill came to us and it was way over the amount that we assumed we were going to pay. Come to find out, they gave us the wrong order, they gave us captain combo, a way higher price than the cajun. I told them it was the first time and they just blew that off too saying that I thought you asked for captain, when clearly I picked the cajun, that she suggested herself. No apology for that black thing on the clam as well as the wrong order she gave us. I still had to pay for it all, then she had the nerve to ask us if we wanted dessert. Food was good but wont come back...
