Captain D's — Restaurant in Springfield

I'm very patient when it comes to things, and after 3 visits I'm ready to leave this review. all 3 visits were in the drive thru

Sadly I'm going to start off with the things that need attention...

Out of my 3 visits only 1 time could the person taking my order understand (hear) me. There is something up with the microphone at the drive thru menu board.

The person that handed out my food were always "sad". I did come at various times, and they weren't busy in the drive thru, so that was just weird to me.

All 3 times I ordered catfish. I'm happy they cook the catfish made to order, but they should communicate that, not just with me, but to everyone. It's a drive thru, most people expect speedy service in a drive thru.

Lastly be upbeat and say hello, sorry for your wait, please come back... something! 🙂

Oh and the visit today (receipt pictured) they hadn't opened the window yet and it took the manager a bit to open it.... might want to look at that. 🙂

Now to the good.... The food and drinks were amazing! Fresh catfish everytime I've ordered it. All food was hot and very tasty!

Each time my orders were over $13.

I'm not upset by any means... maybe some coaching is needed at...

I've been to this location afew times, the most recent was Sunday night and my experience there was beyond dissatisfying, placed my order at the drive-thru, waited in line for possibly over half an hour, the person in-front of me hadn't got there order for probably 15 minutes or longer and only had one bag, I was next, gal who was working the drive-thru I did not catch her name but I do recognize her though, still was not pleased with having to wait more, by the time I finally got my order, all she said was thank you have a good night, seriously, no apology for the inconvenience of waiting, didn't offer to reduce the price for the inconvenience, didn't offer anything, nothing, that is very poor work-manship, work performance and not how you treat costumers, at all, on top of all that, the gal looked like she was on drugs or something, not professional by any means, personally? Needs either more training or shouldn't even be working there, unfortunately I won't be goin back anytime soon, to corporate, management or whoever the upper people are, if you care about the satisfactory of your costumers at all??, I highly suggest you do something...

We've been putting off hitting any of the seafood restaurants in the area seeing as how we are in the middle of the country, but wanted to give Captain D's a try since we heard they served Pollock instead of Tilapia. Some of the fish options are Swai, which is as bad as Tilapia, but there are some good options for the better fish. The prices were decent and we thought the portions were good. The fish was a little too greasy (oil wasn't at the right temp) but the fries were nicely done. The coleslaw was the best we've had at a fast food place. The shrimp was very tender and not overcooked with just a light breading (I wish the fish had the same breading). I was told the stuffed crab was real crab, but I don't think it is. Not when you can see the fake pink line and the perfect cuts. The crab shell was real though. It was very good. If you like hush puppies you will enjoy theirs; crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Overall, very good seafood...
