We arrived and were seated quickly, but things weren't so great after that. The did was great, but the served was lousy.
After we were seated we ordered drinks and was served then quickly. We were not given straws. My girlfriend eventually flagged a waiter down who gave us some. I spilled some pina colada on me and used my one napkin. When the easiest eventually showed up to take our food orders I asked for "A lot more napkins". The definition for "a lot" is open for interpretation, but he only brought us two more.
Our food arrived eventually. I took some time. It was tested great. I had the Taco Trio. My only complaint was that there was a chicken rib bone in my taco. This didn't affect the flavor but was an unpleasant surprise to bite into.
We waited close to 10 minutes after eating for our waiter to show up. We eventually asked another waiter for our check. We then went to the register to pay. There wad was no one there. We waited another 5 minutes. By the time someone showed up there were a couple of parties that showed up waiting to be seated.
One important note- this wasn't during some lunch time or dinner rush. It was a around 3pm on a Sunday. It was...
Read moreOur first time to visit this establishment and it is our now our go to Mexican restaurant! The staff was very helpful and friendly, the number of servers was more than adequate in order to keep things moving. Our visit was on a Saturday evening (no reservations taken on Sat/Sun) and the hostess quoted a 15 min wait, but we were seated with menu in hand, drink order taken and a basket of very tasty chips and salsa on the table in less than 10 minutes! Our order was prepared correctly and in front of us in about 15 minutes. The food was very tasty, plenty of it and the prices very, very reasonable. Our bill for two entre's, a soft drink (Pepsi products with free refills) with 20+% gratuity and a military discount was under $22 (under $24 without discount). In business for 6 yrs, they rely on word of mouth advertising and have a very loyal following. There is a Hot Head Burrito restaurant on the other side of the parking lot and a Taco Bell across the street and neither was busy. That was not the case at Casa del Sabor. We...
Read moreMy first time here and although they were busy, we were seated pretty quickly which surprised me for a Friday evening and the "dinner rush hour". We were greeted with warm friendliness and most of the staff was cheerful and friendly. Our server a little less so at first but as we dined he kept attentive to us and joked around with us. Thinking now that his cooler manner was just keeping up with the rush.
I got the fajita chicken taco salad which was good. My sister got it also and told me she thought it not as good as she'd had before. My B-i-L got "what I usually get" and said it as good as ever. Guess I need to go back and try again, which I'll gladly do.
Parking lot is kind of small, particularly with how popular this place seems to be. But they're located by a wide street where you can park; that's what I did and the walk was no more than the furthest part of the lot. Since I'm in the Springfield area for the weekend, I think I'll go back and try one of the other items on the menu that...
