I was extremely disappointed with our visit. My husband and I decided to take a walk from our hotel and wound up at Freddy's for frozen custard. The store was not very busy, and more than adequately staffed. There were two or three teenage boys working at the front counter, and our order was taken pretty quickly. My husband ordered a large concrete, and I ordered a double dish with Reeses PBC toppings. When the boy working rang it up, he rang mine up as a sundae instead of the way I ordered it, and the more expensive price wouldn't have even been worth mentioning here except that he still charged me 80-cents for the single topping.
I didn't say anything about it, though, and we took our receipt and went to sit down. We weren't in a hurry, so at first I didn't even pay attention to how much time was passing. But I began to notice that two or three other customers came in and ordered full meals after we were already waiting for ours, and they were already receiving their orders. The boys working up front were goofing off at this point. Another employee, a teenage girl, was sitting at the booth in front of us eating, either on break or just finishing her shift, and the boys kept coming over and messing with her.
I pointed out to my husband that nobody was even making any custard dishes, but he told me to be patient, so we continued to sit and wait. But finally, I took my phone out to see what time it was, and it had been 20 minutes since we ordered. I finally got up and went to the counter, and one of the boys looked over at the order screen and said "oh, I'll make that for you right now!!"
...but just as he was getting ready to make them, he noticed that the girl was standing up and gathering her things, and I guess running over and messing with her again was more of a priority than making our dishes.
When we finally did get our order, my husband's concrete looked more like a milkshake. We actually asked the boy if that was a concrete, and his response was: "its supposed to be." Then he walked away.
We have always had great experiences at the other Freddy's locations that we have visited, and I am sure that our experience at this one would have been much different if we would have ordered something other than frozen custard or if there had been better supervision of the younger employees.
The store itself was in great shape, very clean and well-stocked, and the employees from the kitchen that presented other customers' meals to them were all...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant multiple times and tonight I was absolutely disrespected by the “manager”…I ordered a #1 with a drink plus a root beer float..I sat down to eat my food and as I’m digging into my root beer float I noticed that the ice cream was melted. So I waited until I was done eating my meal before I went up to the counter to ask for either a refund or another root beer float. There was a girl employee at the counter, whenever I first asked her for either a refund or another root beer float as she’s telling me that the ice cream was down, melted in tubs, so it would have to be a refund and she was siding with me. But she couldn’t do the refund because she was not a manager so she called the manager over. The manager shook his head and ask me where did the rest of the float go. I said the ice cream was already melted which their custard machine was down and practically melted and in tubs. So I asked for a refund back. He told me no, I’m not gonna give you a refund. Then he asked what happened to half of it you obviously drank most of it so no I’m not giving a refund. I thought the customer was always right? Well not tonight apparently. Being threatened by him saying he going to call the cops…I would’ve been happy to stick around for the cops to show up if it hadn’t been my buddy saying c’mon let’s just go…I asked his name he wouldn’t tell me and none of the other employees couldn’t answer me what his name was. I’m so disappointed in this restaurant and the food was not any better surprisingly! However I’d love to talk to corporate or someone who’s higher...
Read moreBefore I get into this review, I will start off with: I love Freddy’s. The cheese curds are my #1. My experience tonight will not detour me but I wanted to at least share the experience.
So, went through the drive through. Pretty fine exchange. Got a cheese burger, fries, and curds. Drive up, pay, receive my food. Here is where the mess up happened. Now, I will say on both ends as well. I didn’t check my order… So, I get home, open then bag, and find a chicken sandwich, tenders, and fries. Normally, I would have just went with the flow and ate the meal even if it wasn’t what I paid for, but because of 1). Inflation and 2). I was craving a burger tonight, I went ahead and DROVE BACK to the restaurant to fix the order.
Upon my arrival, one of the associates nicely took the incorrect bag and went to the cooks. Here we go. Listen… I am ALL FOR goofing off at work, I do it all the time, but when the customer OBVIOUSLY has an issue with the order, I think it’s wise to be serious. The cooks mocked the fact that one of them messed up the order and then proceeded to take a little big longer than needed to fix it. It got to the point where the manager had to walk over and give the “manager look” at the cooks.
Soon, the food was given back to me correctly. I did have to run back in a second time to grab sauces but I kind of figured they forgot anyway.
I’m all for mistakes, we are humans. And the mistake was fixed with no hassle. But I think the cooks should have taken responsibility and owned up to the mistake instead of making a public display… the customers can SEE...
