Of all the locations in the area, this is the worst. I’ve only been here in the evening and late at night at which time the management is absolutely incompetent. Well, at least five days a week it is. The usual five-day-a-week night Manager is off two days a week and on those days there is a nice young man with a little ponytail that is very professional, mannerly and courteous. The food gets out 100% faster when he’s there. That’s only two days a week. On the other five nights of the week, that Manager is almost completely invisible in that he stays on the line cooking the whole time. He’s there instead of de-escalating customer/employee interactions. Instead of supervising his employees – – of them is constantly so stoned he can’t keep his eyes open— And is almost always outside smoking rather than being inside preparing and serving food. There is a long- haired skinny white kid that has no idea what he is supposed to be doing. one night when I complained about my wait, he walked out at the same time as I did and let me know that he and the night manager had spit in my food! When I complained about to Whataburger corporate, the general manager emailed me to apologize and wanted to talk to me more but I work nights so when she’s at work, I’m asleep. when I’m at work, She’s asleep.so I Never got to speak to her. I made the Mistake of telling her in my reply email that I am also a Uber eats/DoorDash delivery driver and that I’m in that restaurant all the time at night. This information seems to have changed everything because then she wouldn’t reply back to me. A lot of restaurants do not like third-party delivery drivers, and I don’t understand why. We are the only factor keeping a lot of restaurants in business. With our delivery service basically carrying a lot of fast food restaurants because people just don’t wanna go out to eat anymore. when food takes as long as it does at this place, ppl would much rather pay a third-party to go wait 30 minutes for their food then to go do it themselves. Which brings me to another subject , this whole incident occurred was because I ordered pancakes at 2:42 AM on the mobile app with the hopes that I could just walk in grab them and leave, Go home eat them and go to bed.. The app Said my pancakes would be ready at 2:52 AM. fortunately, I know how long it takes them to prepare food, so I waited an additional 10 minutes before going in. I went in, told the gentleman with the long hair that I was there, but had to basically flag him down to make him See me. He was literally a foot and a half from me and I had to wave him down Because he would not acknowledge me. I proceeded to go sit down to wait (hopefully just a couple of minutes) for my food. But when 15 minutes went by,I went back up to the counter, Asked when my food would be ready they said another 10 minutes… so now we’re talking almost an hour after they got the order, more than 20 minutes after I arrived at the restaurant to get pancakes. I sat down for another 10 minutes and went back up to the counter. had to yell at somebody to get their attention. The manager stepped away from the line for a second and I asked him what is the point of the mobile app if it’s still going to take this long to get pancakes ? He then told me to get out. And that’s when the other young man told me that they had spit in my food. whether or not it was true I do not know, But I wasn’t gonna take the chance. So I threw away what I had waited for for almost an hour. The General managers name is Betsy Suarez. And Betsy, I hope you read this. And I truly thought that you were going to do something to take care of what happened to me at your restaurant. Or at least follow up and see what you could do to make this Right, but you didn’t, so I am going to spread the news far And wide About what an embarrassment and a disgrace your restaurant is. So we went back and tried to get a replacement. They said they would replace the food so I waited in lobby for an hour! With about 20 other customers. Which every single one waited about as long as me and they all had issues with their order as well! The African American gentleman at the front was one of the worst fast food employees I've came in contact with. This is whataburger. Not prison dude. No need to act tough on your customers like your gunna jump us. Anyways. As I was waiting foever like the rest I continued to check in with the manager about my food. He informed me they remade it but handed it out the drive through window. At this point I'm LIVID cause they literally did the same thing they did the first time AGAIN but right in front of my face while I'm in the store. This place is is WORST ever. Cause guess what? They rushed me out some food that still wasn't correct and I was still missing items from my 50$ order that I never got. So basically I was ROBBBBED. they robbed me of my food. My money. My time. I will never return here for food and I hope no one else does either. They must just hire any and everyone too. There was a young girl there being picked up by a manager out of clothes as well . He looked old enough to be her dad or something. She wasn't even in correct uniform. Skin tight leggings were her choice of pants which isn't allowed. also she had on the ugliest heels as well too. Read moreEXTREMELY disappointed. In the worst possible location of entire city to put in for starters, as almost dangerous getting in and out at that particular heavily trafficked intersection. Should have been 6 blocks either north or south. Strike one. Then the staff...very condescending and quite rude, training def needed. The staff makes the customer feel if any issues or complaints it is OUR fault?? I also understand with our areas super low unemployment rate; skilled, and or qualified workers are hard to find, but they have to do better with attitude. The customer is always right the golden rule to keep the doors open. The attitudes must change. FOOD: decent burgers for the price but do not think the cooks quite up to par on how to prepare their varied menu. Skimpy toppings. The chicken sandwich was fair enough. Yes the milkshakes are great, but until food actually gets better prepared and tastes better, shakes are not going to cut it. I think this place is having growing pains, and needs new leadership at the helm, as looking at the other reviews I am not alone in the sinking ship estimate. This one is no where as good in ALL areas of others (chain) I have been to, especially down south, where they know how to put a burger together for real!! Galveston TX store my fave, so quite the shock that when one finally comes to my city, it honestly quite sucks. Hoping corporate looks into getting new staff, teaching them how to communicate effectively, while also increasing quality, then decreasing wait time (way to long for a fast-food spot). PLEASE put the arrows in correctly with signage also, as nearly saw a wreck occur in parking lot my very first visit and needs done...
