Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Springfield

I have never had an issue with Jersey Mikes sandwiches as a matter of fact my family loves them. I was disappointed today when I went in to order my meals today. I watch the blonde headed female manager (Sunday, March 26th around 1:00pm) in what appeared to be a bad mood or not handling what was obviously a newer employee in a very professional manner in front of customers.

She was noticeably frustrated and did not have patience for her. Eye rolling and taking it upon herself to do something she asked her to do (write a number on the brown bag the sandwich was in) while the employee was doing something else and because she didn’t do it fast enough, she stormed over and did it herself. I watched the employee mouth I was going to do it. I will say that employee kept a smile on her face and kept moving forward.

I know there are things I may not know about this situation but what I do know is it was obvious to me, the customer, that the manager was annoyed, and obvious that the employee was getting managed with less than a professional way.

I have several employees I supervise and every one of them are managed with respect. I would hope her management style is evaluated for future employees and for success for her, as a manager, or this could lead to loss...

If I could give no stars I would. My wife and I came in to get a couple of subs and noticed that onions were being cooked on the grill, so we asked if it could be cleaned before making ours because I am allergic to onions. The gentleman taking our payment said no problem. Then a lady came up and told us they could not clean the grill they could only scrape it off. I wasn't asking for a full clean where you shut it off and use cleaner. A good scrape and steam clean would have been fine. We explained that they did it last time. She just said sorry but we can't do that, we will give you a refund. Then asked if there was a cold sandwich they could make me. That would be even worse given the fact there are onions all over the counter and mixed with all the other vegetables. To top it all off she tried to have me pay a second time and didn't seem like she belived me when i said i already paid and the money came out of my account until she found it in the computer. We will not be returning to this establishment. I have never heard of a restaurant not being able to clean a grill. That is just plain gross and unsanitary. It is also a health...

So this was our first time to Jersey Mike's Subs on Mohawk. My first time to any and my wife first since coming to the west coast from Jersey. The manager was exceptional and really treated us lime royalty giving me a true almost deli experience by picking my sub and making it right in front of me...meats cut fresh! Saywaht!!!! The manage made the experience and he wasn't wring with the guess as to my kind of sub. He picked the Italian and I told him that's what I would usually order over at that atrocity they call a sub shop just down the street....next time we're both...my wife and I.....gonna try the tuna as theanager exclaimed with much jubilation that it's super fresh and real tuna caught off Jersey's shores. Which in and of itself sounds like a treat. Don't get me wrong Oregon caught tuna is very very exceptional and delicious but to be able to taste an authentic aspect of an east coast eatery with delitastic combinations is what my wife says is the best way to experience a piece of the east coast short of going there in person and eating it for yourself.

Good job guys. Keep hiring stellar individuals like that and get...
