Ok. So I found a review that pretty much sums up our experience tonight…however…She will never go back. WE will absolutely be back!! Here it is: We ate here tonight after seeing the reviews. We walked in an it was an absolute ghost town for dinner on a Friday night! We weren’t sure if they were actually open. Questioned if we entered through the wrong door or maybe, just maybe, this was actually it. My sister in law went to pull her phone out to look at the pics online to compare and solve the mystery. We weren’t greeted when we walked in but then someone wandered out of the back and seemed confused as to why we were there. (This is were our reviews start to differ). We were direct where to sit and our servers brought back waters. Cleanest glasses I’ve ever seen (honestly). We let him know it was our first visit so we may need some time to look over the menu. We were given lots of time. We got to order. Our server was very nice. Soft spoken. Super polite! Our food took a little while to come out. But let me tell you—-IT WAS WORTH EVERY MINUTE! We thought he had forgotten that we ordered the naan. Oh, he did not forget..it was being made. When it came out if was fresh, hot, slight crisp and absolutely DELICIOUS! We couldn’t believe how incredible the food was. Like…we wanted to see the kitchen and WHO was cooking. Sooo good. My husband wanted to lick the bowls. It was soooo good. Words are escaping me to tell you how enjoyable our dinner was to eat. So good that we forgot to order dessert!!! We realized half way home and totally regret it. I have a feeling since it’s a Friday night they may have moved furniture around for the busy lounge crowd that would be coming later in the night. We were probably dining in that awkward transition time. Well…we have a funny story that ends with a new go to spot for a...
Read more5* experience all around. The only thing that will make it better is when they have live music, private patio, and full bar - which are all coming. The food was delicious 🤤. Service was top notch. Poora was so lovely. I didn't get out other servers name but he was so nice and helpful also. The prices are all great ($6-10 for apps & $11-20 for mains). At the end of the meal Ash (the owner) came out to check on us and ask how we enjoyed our dinner. He shared all of the exciting things he has planned and invited us back again. The atmosphere was lovely, beautiful decor and nice music. We were the only ones there (new restaurant on a Sunday) for most of the time. I can't wait for it to be packed wall to wall (as long as I can still get a seat!). We ordered a bunch of dishes so we could try new things. We got: Mango Lassi to start - sweet, creamy, tart, thick and smooth! Vegetable Samosa - amazing, savory, crispy, and a little heat. The chutneys all tasted amazing on top - tamarind, mint, and onion. Dahi Bhalla - cool and creamy yogurt topped the soft lentil dumplings. Vegetable MoMo Chili - Nepalese dumplings with delicate wrappers around a flavorful ground vegetable mix coated in a sweet/heat chili sauce. Plain Dosa - south Indian crispy rice and lentil crepe. They also brought out the most amazing lentil soup for our Dosa. And last but not least Mango Chicken. One of the best Indian dishes I have ever had. This will be my new go to. I cannot wait to bring friends and family back here. They also do take out DoorDash and GrubHub. Seriously, let's make this the next jam packed restaurant in Western Mass. They...
Read moreMy wife and I live in the Quadrangle area, so we were excited to try L’amour because it’s a short walk away. The owner and his staff are all friendly. We met them before their grand opening and they were gracious to give us a tour and tell us their story. It was exciting to hear how passionate they are about the restaurant, the food, and their goals with the establishment. When we came in today for dinner, we tried the steamed chicken momo to start, and for our main dishes the chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo. The momo were firm but still tender, holding their shape from plate to mouth and great with the sauce they came with. A very large portion as well, we were very surprised. When we received the main courses we received a large bowl of rice to share between the two of us. The vindaloo was very aromatic. The spices were very present. A few bites I had whole spices just burst in my mouth, surprising but still flavorful. The tikka masala was excellent, there was plenty of chicken and good-sized pieces. For dessert they recommended the rice pudding. We’ve never had it before so we tried it, and it was a real shock. So sweet despite being rice, it was definitely different but really good. We got some gulab jamun to go. It’s probably our favorite thing on the menu already. Something worth making a special trip to L’amour. Overall, we are very excited for this new establishment in the Quadrangle-Mattoon area, and look forward to coming back/coming often. We hope everyone will try and support a great restaurant, filled with great people,...
