MJ's Pizza — Restaurant in Springfield

I've been eating pizzas, and other food, from MJ's Pizza for well over 30 years. It has gone from the original owners, at least through two new owners. I have picked up orders after shifts fom MMCenter, and had deliveries, but I have never eaten there.The quality and service has been really poor this last year or so. This last order was the worst I ever had. The phone system that they use to put you on hold, doesn't really put you on hold, the line is open, wide open! You can't tell if the intake person is talking to you or another party. Everything she says to anyone else comes through as if she's still talking to you. So, you hear conversations with the cook, the walk in customers and anyone on the other phone lines. And she can't handle the amount of calls. There's so much background noise it's even hard to hear or understand her when she is talking to you. I said my entire order twice. The very last thing was a repeat of my order. I'm glad they came sooner than the 45 minutes but it was incomplete!! I only ordered 2 fish and chip dinners and two desserts. I got two desserts and only one meal. The menu says that all the fried seafood dinners come with chips (fries), a tartar sauce, a cocktail sauce and a coleslaw. We got bread (?) with it, but no cocktail sauce. The wonderful filets of fish are now 2 blocks of processed fish. The amount of fries is only about half we used to get! So, after three phone calls, and two deliveries, I will not be using MJ's anymore. It wasn't until the 3rd call when I asked about the coleslaw and cocktail sauce, that I was told that they had no slaw. She ignored (or couldn't hear) me mention the cocktail sauce, as she didn't mention it either. No apologies, no offer to substitute something and no discount. Infact, no goodbye! She just hung up! She's unpleasant and short and badly trained. But the new owners/managers are the ones to be blamed for just poor restaurant management, period. Goodbye MJ's. I have called after my Delivery yesterday, April 10th, to talk about my Delivery. No answered. I called today's @11:00am, let the phone ring forever, no answer again. Can I assume that my phone number is recognized and you are refusing to answered. Can I assume that you will never answer my calls again. MJ's has always been my go-to for Italian Delivery restaurants. I only wanted to tell someone there that my pizza dough was from barely done on the crust and outside edges but raw in the middle. In fact one side and center was more raw than the other areas. I wasn't sure if it was due to the oven, the temperature of the pie , or that the time of cooking was too short. It might have been a combo of all those things. I don't want a refund, I didn't want a replacement, I only wanted the cook to be made aware of the problem. So, unless you closed down shop by 5:25 pm yesterday and are still closed, I have no idea why your not answering. Thanks to having left a previous review I'd have no way to contact you. I can't find a place to leave a new review on your advertisement for some reason today. Could you please respond or just call me? In the meantime I will continue to cook my leftovers before...

This was a hard one to call, and I'll explain why: "Back in the mid to late '70's, MJ's was one of "thee" best pizza joints to hit up. That TASTY PIZZA SAUCE, fresh meats and veggies, and let's not forget the signature greasiness that dripped with deliciousness 😋. Absolute signature...THEN. Unfortunately, as I waited with anticipation for my combo pizza to arrive, it came to me, a question in my thoughts (and taste buds), "...are the owners still the same, as well as the pizzas?" I will soon find out. ~....🤔...[1 hr later]When the delivery came, I was ecstatic. I opened the box and as expected I had to heat it back up in the oven.. okay, fine. Ready to grub out, I sat with napkins and a beer, took my long awaited bite and...ohh-kay - NOT what I expected. Everything about the pizza LOOKED and SMELLED like it SHOULD HAVE, but the sad disappointment was the SAUCE 🙆🏽! Don't get it wrong, it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't seasoned... seriously. But that was rectified with some spices in my kitchen. 🤷🏽Eh...things happen. ~All in all, it was a good pizza, Great crust!!. And to the Mgr/Supv at MJ's...."Please, tighten up the...

Order from them all the time an NEVER had issues with ordering from the men their but the woman their need to open up her ears I ordered a steak an cheese grinder a cheeseburger fries wings an a pizza an instead of a cheeseburger I got beef on a grinder with cheese knowing I already ordered a steak an cheese grinder was confused an no pizza an when I called all of a sudden she didn’t hear that I wanted a pizza well apparently she didn’t hear alot of stuff by the hamburger grinder she tried to pass off as a burger I’m upset because when I called to question the lady about my order she makes it seem as if she didn’t hear what I said instead of trying to make it right when I specifically corrected her an said hamburger on a ROLL an usually I dnt specify cause a cheeseburger is a cheeseburger like it’s not rocket science unless I say different but proceeds to say its only a Dollar more for a cheeseburger instead of grinder as if I’m some brokey an didn’t already ask for that in the first place...
