Downtown Supermarket — Local services in Springfield

This place has a Spanish food vendor on the left as you walk in. There are no signs of price for the food anywhere. So I'm guessing they charge you what they feel like. Better hope the person working is having a good day. On the right hand side. Where there is one or two cashiers. They never even noticed me. I have entered the store two times this week and the same thing happens. The rest of the store is laid out like a grocery store. They have produce section. But the prices seem a little high. In the meat section the meat was brown. So I went to the deli in the back of the store. They only had one brand of meat. I have never heard of the brand my whole life. The cheeses they sold were two or three kinds but the same brand. Three isles of shelf goods were packed with generic goods. Sold at or near name brand prices. I'm not even kidding you! You could get same goods in others stores in this city. And always see the same products on sale. Also canned vegetables that would be on sale at Price Rite or Save Alot were 1.79 ea. Both times I went in this store. I walked out without buying anything. The only people that should even wasting thier money here are people that don't have a car. Or take a bus to a real Grocery...

This is the only mom & pop store within 3 blocks and it has no idea how to treat customers. Usually one cashier usually on Facebook or Snapchat for 5-6 or more people in line and some cashiers won't make eye contact, they pack your bags and just say nothing. They'll leave your merchandise at the end of the register without saying a word if at all in English. Given the chance I try to hike uphill to Dollar Tree or Family Dollar for better prices and better service. If they plan to expand I hope they don't. It's also a haven for criminal activity, drug addicts, and beggars from the area shelters usually camped out across the street at the local park during the day, A drug shooting gallery in plain view. Worst part is because so many addicts linger and loiter around the store all of the non prescription drugs are hidden behind counters with some guy telling me I can't look to see what they have.
