TBH, we haven’t tried the food yet, but it smells amazing! The atmosphere is lovely as well! The real star of the show is Kiandra! (Kia)She was INCREDIBLE! I typically don’t leave a tip on a to go order, but I did tonight! I will update this review after trying the food… Also, Shirley, the night manager is a ROCKSTAR!
so, fast-forward …. The food was great. I highly recommend the garlic shrimp. I can’t remember the name, but it is an appetizer in garlic butter. Absolutely. PHENOMENAL! Enchilada soup was delicious as was the steak. I am so impressed with this place. They are a new place and they’re still working out the kinks, but I am telling you I cannot wait to go back! I wish that I could have taken photos, but the food is all gone! 😜 I am also impressed that the owner responds to each reviewer. I don’t know your name, but give these two women a raise!
We went back last night for happy hour. You get 25% off the appetizers. There are drinks specials that my daughter and I were only interested in the frozen drinks. They are four dollars off and pretty freaking delicious! We each got an order of the sunshine shrimp, the one in garlic butter sauce with a touch of lemon. It comes with garlic bread. It comes with a lot of shrimp and it’s an appetizer! Holy moly that stuff …. If you like shrimp scampi, it is similar. I mentioned how delicious it is.
We also got the coconut shrimp and while we really enjoyed it, it came with five shrimp. Not easy to share that with two people especially good eaters like us. The sunshine shrimp comes with a lot. With the discount it was $10 and for a bowl of shrimp. I think that’s pretty darn great. So the coconut shrimp was around the same price but if you are a small eater and love coconut shrimp they are pretty great and they come with a delicious dipping sauce The “Snorkels” are long tater tots stuffed with bacon and cheese with a queso sauce on top. Comes with a green Sriracha sauce on the side. I’m not even a tater tot woman, but these are delicious! We each got a frozen drink and they were amazing The server has only been working there for four days! His name is Tino and I made the mistake of calling him Tony the next time he came to our table, so I just continued to call him because he has such a great sense of humor. To say that he enhanced our dining experience would be an understatement! He practically danced to our table. He was just so happy and playful, but if you don’t like that, I am sure he would count it down because he seemed like he could accommodate, and I was just in a playful mood
I know this is TMI but it’s my review so I can do what I want. I’m getting up there in years so I am becoming better at not caring about what other people think.
Anyway, yesterday was the anniversary of my mother‘s death. She died when I was 16 and my daughter knows how excruciatingly difficult it is for me. So last night was a welcome distraction and it made it extra special because of Tony
**^'.So once again, Palm and paddle, you hit a home run.
Oh, and by the way, he had been a bartender for years so if you have questions about drinks, the man is master !
Hopefully this review doesn’t come across as being way too long and way too boring!
My daughter and I went tonight with another “ daughter.“
This time we had a server, “Amy.”
Amy did not negative impact our experience and she didn’t neutralize it either. What she did however was MAXIMIZE our experience.
She really was extraordinary. He paid attention to detail, and I have to tell you that with an ADHD girl myself I would not have been able to keep up with his astute brain!
Now, regarding Amy, well… She was MAGNIFICENT! She had not only nailed down the RIZZ factor (charisma PLUS) but her sense of humor was definitely on point. She was absolutely delightful.
She was attentive without being obtrusive…
Again, Amy was magnificent. Sorry/not sorry I forgot to take photos Tonight, Bri was once again WONDERFUL! Also, Uriel (one of the cooks) stopped by and also enhanced our experience
HIGHLY recommend...
Read moreI was so excited to eat here for the first time! I didn't tell my wife where we were going, so it was a surprise for her. We were seated on the upstairs balcony and waited too long for service. When our server showed up, she was very friendly and helpful. We ordered our selection by pointing to it on the menu and saying the name. She told us it came with two sides. We ordered our sides and asked that the soup be nearly boiling hot because that's how my wife likes soup.
The food was delivered in a reasonable time, but after the food runner sat it down, I realized it was missing so many things. The menu says that the Mango Habanero Chicken Island Bowl is, "Tender chicken breast slices grilled in our Mango Habanero Sauce and served over Island Rice topped with grilled fresh pineapple, Seasoned Black Beans, cucumbers, avocado, Flame-roasted Corn, and pickled red onions. Drizzled with more of our Mango Habanero Sauce." Our meal had no pineapple, no black beans, no cucumbers, no avocado, no flame-roasted corn, and no pickled red onions. The chicken was barely even warm. The soup was barely warm.
I went inside and found our server tending bar. I told her we didn't get what we ordered. She said she'd be right out to see. A few minutes later, a different woman came to our table. I assume she was in management. Her people skills were lacking. She made me feel like it was my mistake after I explained the issue. I had to explain the issue four or five times. Every time I explained it, she would ask questions that proved she wasn't really paying attention to my explanation.
When she finally understood the situation, she had our food replaced in a reasonable time. Again, the chicken was barely warm and the soup was barely warm. This time, however, the order included the right items. The taste was off, the temperature was off, and the mood of excitement and anticipation was lost. My wife only had one bite of soup and only two or three bites of the meal. I tried to eat more but eventually felt like there could be bacteria or food poisoning in food served at such a low temperature.
We left with our meal uneaten. I paid the bill, and then we left and went somewhere else for dinner. The reviews I read before going painted a glowing picture, so I was shocked by the reality of what we...
Read moreOur waitress Riley deserves 5 stars across the board!! She redeemed our evening.
Our family went this evening for my Mother in Law’s birthday. I ordered the pork tenderloin and it ended up being a pork chop less than a half inch thick. I spoke with our server and sent it back because the dish was not at all what I expected. The server was very kind and took it back and took my replacement order with no question. A few moments later, a gentleman in all gray came out of the kitchen, I’m assuming the manager, and came up to the table to ask what was wrong with the pork. I explained to him that it was not what I expected and wouldn’t have ordered it had I known what was actually being offered. I then told him I would rather have the bowl that I reordered moments earlier. To that he responded “well, it’s going to take a while.” I responded, “that’s fine, I’ll wait.” He walked away seemingly frustrated. Less than two minutes later my bowl came out and it was wonderful! The steak my brother in law ordered on the other hand, was insanely tough as if it were cut the wrong direction and definitely not worth $25.
Our server was very nice and attentive to our table, she really redeemed the evening! She was worthy of 5 stars across the board! The manager(?) was not very nice and actually is making us consider not coming back to this restaurant, at least not for a while, hence...
