I’m town visiting family and we came here for breakfast on someone’s recommendation. Good location, good parking, loved all The Beatles decor. When you walk in they direct you to seat yourself, we found a table that wasn’t that clean but sat 6. Took a while for someone to come greet us and bring us menus but when our waitress came to the table she was very friendly. I had the All American breakfast eggs were eggs, sausage was links and I was expecting patties, and the hash browns were so “crispy” there wasn’t any potato to eat. When she brought my MIL her plate there was a piece of receipt tape in her gravy. She apologized. When we asked for plastic silverware ( something our family does at every restaurant we visit) the waitress told “they were low” on plastic silverware so she brought us a large mug full of hot water and some extra napkins. She was doing the best she could with what she had, she was funny polite and apologetic. Would not recommend, for 6 people to eat breakfast I could have spent my $100 somewhere else. We paid a little over $80 and tipped $20 and that’s not enough to get some requested silverware to eat my food….and you’re not even out you’re just “low”? I’ll take my business elsewhere. Big thanks to our server,...
Read moreThis is a review of poor service. We went to Sgt Peppers Cafe for breakfast on a Sunday morning (approx. 10:30am) and ended up leaving before we could even have our order taken. To start we sat at a table that hadn't been cleaned. Not a big deal, this can easily be fixed, but when my husband asked the server if she could wipe down the sticky syrup that was all over the tabletop and had gotten all over his paper menu, she was put out, you could tell because she rolled her eyes and huffed as she walked away. My husband went to the bathroom to wash the stickiness off his hands and he overheard her in the back with the other staff complaining about our table (how professional!). We then sat and waited for her to return to take our order, but after 17 mins of no one coming to the table, we decided to just leave. I am not sure if the owner of this establishment knows that he/she has people on his/her team that behave in such an unprofessional manner. It is driving off business, perhaps the owner doesn't need or want customers. When we were leaving, my husband told another server that we were not going to stay, and that woman rolled her eyes, shrugged her shoulders and said, "oh well." There is never an excuse to be rude to...
Read moreThis is a great family owned restaurant on the south side of Springfield. We have gone there for years and are what you would call "regulars" . The food is always best described as Americana, fresh, hot and made to order. The family has been in the restaurant business for many years in Springfield and even goes so far as to serve free Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to anyone who shows up on those days. You could not ask for a better business or establishment to have in your town. It really burns me up when I see whiny comments like "I could not get a water refill." or ""My food was not hot enough". Knowing their volume of business they go through on a busy Saturday or Sunday, mistakes are bound to happen, even with "regulars" such as myself. However on those rare occassions when something does not go perfect, I simply ask one of the very busy servers to please correct whatever the problem is and they have never failed to disappoint even if it means taking my hamburger back and having it redone (Only happended once.) Give them kindness, courtesy and respect, and that's what you get back. Plus great...
