I wish more people knew that HoneyBaked Ham is good for so much more than just spiral hams. For example, their Tavern Club Sandwich is an amazing thing -- so packed with delicious ingredients, it's actually heavy to lift and it's HUGE. I use those sandwiches for many different purposes: as thank you gifts for services rendered, as "travel food" since they're so much more delicious and reasonably-priced than any airport food, as a quick meal if I'm too tired to cook, and much more.
People may not realize that they can usually get very meaty hambones at two-for-the-price of one. There's so much meat on those hambones, it's almost like buying a whole separate package of ham slices and chips. And then you have the hambone for soup or beans-and-hambone. Great value for the money!
I keep their delicious sides -- scalloped apples, sweet potato casserole, in particular -- in my freezer at all times. I just whip one out when I need to take a dish to a potluck or somebody's house. Their apple walnut caramel pie is a bit pricy, but it's utterly delicious and it's BIG. The ham salad makes a very quick and easy canapé if you spread it on crackers or any fancy bread. It's a lot, especially if you happen to get it at two-for-one, but it freezes well.
Many people use the HB catering program if they have a ladies' luncheon, a meeting at lunchtime, etc. The sandwiches are very filling and they don't have to be kept warm or heated up.
To wind this up, I think their membership program is just great, one of the best of its kind. You get $9 (why nine, I do not know) when you sign up, on your birthday, and whenever you amass enough "piggy points." (Maybe the number 9 looks like the curly tail of a pig??)
I know I sound like a paid promoter, which I am not, or an employee, which I also am not. I'm just a very satisfied customer who thinks more people should know about and patronize the HoneyBaked Ham outlet near them. And not...
Read moreRobert, the manager, was the rudest worker i have ever met. i asked for my sandwich, to which he replied that he would get someone to assist me. though i thought this was weird, i still ended up waiting ten minutes before getting someone to serve me. the ladies at honey baked couldn’t have been more helpful, but it’s hard to excuse the behavioral issues i had with the manager. not only did he have short responses to my questions about the food he’s in charge of, but just the blunt body language that he shows to the customers is insane! leaning on the counter to show his unpleasant and un-patient attitude towards every single customer! i ended up eating inside to watch this even harder, and i am just completely appalled. again, if you want to eat PLEASE make sure you get one of the girls. kristen and missie were amazing,...
Read morewe got a small holiday meal that included 3 sides. served 4 people and then some.. the food was excellent. the green beans were fresh and the potatoes had real cheese grated on top. The turkey breast came sliced and it looked like it was dry but it wasn't. once we warmed it up and added a little bit of butter it was delicious. The only thing I made was stuffing and gravy and we had an entire meal ready to eat in 1 hr. I definitely recommend a holiday meal here for people that don't plan to cook. The sides were frozen and you cook everything in their own containers they come in. We just needed to have our own silverware, drinks, and a pie. I was thrilled to find a small meal option for 4 available at a reasonable cost.. Please offer...
