DoorDash Lunch Experiment for the Win!
We noticed The Taco Joint, with its eye-catching paint job and taco truck parked in the lot, while driving to our event at the convention center. Food trucks always catch my eye, since they typically have a small, limited menu, allowing them to focus on each item and execute it very well.
If you like spice and want a one-hit wonder for your meal, pick "The Habanero" burrito. The chicken, cooked to perfection without being dried out, is covered with a nicely spicy habanero salsa and other fillings that pair perfectly with the flavors.
For a sampling of the taco offerings, get the Taco Flight Box (I didn’t see this on their website, but it’s listed on DoorDash). It contains 4 tacos: 1 street carnitas, 1 gringo steak, 1 flip taco, and 1 red birria. Each taco was delightful, but my personal favorite was the flip taco. The beans and pickled onions, paired with some very tender al pastor, made it stand out as the winner of the box. (When I’m back in town, I’m destined to order the flip taco, or many flip tacos.)
For a fun appetizer, get the birria-filled Mexican egg rolls. This was the least messy take I’ve had on birria, and the egg roll wrap really soaked up the birria broth as a dipping sauce. They reminded me of mini chimichangas, and sadly, I was too full to really enjoy them by the time I’d sampled all my family’s items and eaten my share...

Anyway I had the Horseshoe with steak and it was PERFECT! The steak was seasoned and well cooked in bitesize pieces, with waffle fries, pico de Gallo, cilantro, lime, Texas toast, and the best queso cheese sauce ever. If you don't like soggy fries, I do recommend you get the fries on the side ( instead of complaining about why your fries are soggy). The cost was definitely affordable with the amount they provided at $12. Pay with cash if you can because they do charge a 3% fee if you use debit or credit cards. The service was fast ( for lunch time on a Friday!) And friendly. They have tables so you can eat outside, but still no...

I had two Old School Tacos, one in chicken and the other pork, and as you can see in the attached pictures, they looked very appetizing!!
Everything tasted fresh, flavor vile, right temperature and most importantly, absolutely delicious.
When I arrived there st a little after 1 pm, there were at least eight or nine vehicles in front of me. And as I paid my bill, there were 4 behind me - very busy but seemed very capable of handling crowds.
I did NOT go into the building, so I cannot attest to the atmosphere, etc. However, everything I could see or the people I interacted with were personable, well groomed, knowledgeable, and all the rest.
Again, BOTH Tacos...
