Today I met an employee by the name of Ireland. The level of customer service I was met with was lower than the 1 star I am allowed to rate. I used the app to order a smoothie and as I was leaving the house my kids asked if they could get a smoothie as well. I jumped back into the app, ordered 2 more and left to pick them up. When I arrived Ireland asked me if I was picking up an order. I said actually 2, both for Hoffman. She informed me that she only had 1 order and when I said I have 2 email verifications she said "pull it up." I did exactly that and Ireland took my phone from my hand, looked at the order, laughed and said "the other 2 were for the sunshine location." First off, I don't know how that happened but I'll blame myself. Ireland then handed me my smoothie and when I asked about the other 2 she said "you can take your butt to the sunshine store." I told her I wasn't driving 20 minutes for a couple smoothies and asked her why she was so upset. She seemed mad. Ireland replied "I'm very busy." Ok even if that's true I'm the customer she's busy with currently. She then told me "you can call them and get a refund but I need to get back to work." I then informed Ireland I wasn't drinking the smoothie was in front of me and that's when she took it from the counter, stared at me and dropped in the trash. I asked for a Manager and was told there wasn't one on-site. I asked for a name and contact and was refused. She then said "bye" and turned her back on me.
BTW I called the sunshine location and was met with an apology from the manager Shay. She did inform me that they don't own the Kentwood location but she would refund the smoothies I accidentally ordered from their location and again apologized.
I'm empathetic towards food service. It's a tough business, and it gets crazy at times. This could have easily been resolved but Ireland decided today would be her day to push back against a customer and tell them to take their butt to a difference location.
Ireland is not built for customer service or the food service industry. Unfortunately, I really love Tropical Smoothie and order from this location on a semi-regular basis. I know it won't matter to Ireland but that revenue will be going...
Read moreWent in to get acouple of smoothies, the girl that made my smoothie was wearing gloves but I had just watched her clean a chair with the same gloves she used to make my smoothie, she had grabbed the greens directly with those gloves. Which made me uncomfortable, so I asked her to re make my smoothies with new gloves. She completely understood and had no problem rectifying this issue, was even happy to help! 10/10 for her customer service, & resolving issue skills. This review isn't about her.
It's about Haley. The first girl told acouple of her co workers the situation as she went to resolve it. Haley was one of them, she started yelling from her side of the store that "Oh I guess if you want to remake it, but I wouldn't let someone treat me that way" As if my request was unreasonable. She then proceeded to continue yelling things like "it's a good thing I'm not on that side because I wouldn't have put up with that." She was being a bully, and for no reason. The other girls kept apologizing on her behalf, I asked for her name so I could write this review basically saying she lacked in customer service and was creating a hostile work environment. She got mad at one of the girls for giving me her name, yelling at her and me, saying if after my smoothies were done I didn't just take them and leave she would call the police and her manager. She was screaming. I asked her to please get her manager because what she was doing wasn't right, one of the other girls said they didn't have a manager, but Haley found the district manager next door. Thankfully. Read moreFirst experience here, stopped to grab a smoothie for a friend and when I went inside it wasn't very busy. 1 person waiting for an order, 1 person in front of me in line. The person working the register said hi, but then when they finished taking that order they turned and walked a few feet away and started laughing with a coworker until someone told them they needed to take my order. It was only a few minutes, but I mean really, poor service. I ordered a peanut butter cup and went to wait. The person who was waiting when I got there was still waiting and when their order came up all they had was a single smoothie, I know they'd been waiting longer than the five minutes I'd been there. At this point I watched as the staff making smoothies only used 2 mixing cups over and over. Instead of using the several clean cups by the sink they used 2 and then washed them and then used them again and kept repeating this process which meant they weren't using all of their mixers at the same time. I also watched as they made smoothies for people who came in after I ordered because apparently the peanut smoothie gets made in an orange mixing cup instead of clear and they were only using the clear ones until mine was the only smoothie left to make. 3 people came in after me and got their smoothies before me.
