Gross! Here was my experience on a Monday around 3 pm. I should have realized that with it being primarily a bar the chances of the reviews being written by someone whose been drinking are pretty high. Maybe they are just written by friends or staff. I just wanted a good burger and the picture of the onion rings was enticing. So I went with my partner and 5 year old. We were told to sit where we pleased. There were about 3 people sitting at the bar and off to the left was another dining area that had two other occupied tables. I started to wonder if I should have grabbed a menu on the way in or something. We waited for about 15 mins to be greeted and get a menu. Our drinks came quickly. But we needed just a minute to look at the menu since I realized the menu online is not what is offered there. A minute! Soooo after about 20 mins of no service with no new patrons entering the establishment, I truly considered paying for the drinks and walking out, but finally she came as I was online searching for another burger joint. These time-frames are not exaggerations. We ordered. They would not let me substitute fries for onion rings and I didn't want to pay $13 for some at this point. I kinda wanted a decent burger with sauteed onions maybe bourbon sauce, cheese, and the normal toppings. Well they offer a build your own burger. To make me a cheeseburger and add just the sauce and cook the onion (they come raw for free), it came to over $22. Not ready to commit to that at this point. So far I was getting a little anxious and losing hope. The food came reasonably quickly. Different girl dropped it off and told me she would grab some ranch and a few other things she listed off. No ketchup, ranch or anything could make the fries edible. Those brown fries are not seasoned. They are fried in oil that should have been changed out weeks ago. I tried cuz I was starving. I got three down and stopped. Not possible, they taste dirty. They smell like burnt grease. I was half finished with the burger before she came to check on us, (good thing we didn't need a refill or anything) I let her know the oil was bad. They aren't going to do anything about it though. We had finished and she finally came over and asked if I wanted the fries taken off the check.... Uhm yes. Considering no one even ate the fries that came with our burgers. I thought she was going to ring us out. We had been finished a while. Nope.... We sat and sat and sat. I finally told my partner to leave in 5 more mins and I would just go stand at the computer. We had already sat 15 mins when I said that. It came to that. They left. I stood at the computer, finally the girl who never did bring us ranch told me she could help at the bar since the server was missing again. $40 if paying by card, $37 if paying cash. I dropped two 20's and left. They got $3 more of a tip than I was going to give. Before you think I'm a disgruntled Karen take note of my other reviews. I've written maybe 3 negative reviews in my lifetime. This is a warning. If you have a stomach of steel and about 6 hours to dine it perfect. P. S. I really thought they were sweet potato fries on the plate when the burger arrived. Nope. If I could give a quarter of a star it would be a more accurate rating.

TLDR: Online menu prices are very wrong, and there is an extra charge for using a card. I drive past this place every day. I had been wanting to try it for months. My wife was eating out with friends, so after a quick search, I decided to order for me and my kids from this place. I rang them up for a takeout order. The phone was answered, and everything was great. I placed my order based on the menus on their Google business page. The only hiccup being a quick note that the "Western Burger" isn't on their menu anymore but that she can still put one together if we like. That's what my son wanted, so I thanked her, and she said 30 minutes. She never gave me a total or mentioned that I'm clearly looking at an older menu, and the prices have changed dramatically. So, to set the stage. The menu I looked at (still on the page) noted the prices like this: Sliders: $8.95 1lbs Cheeseburger: $12.95 1lbs Western Burger: $13.95 Total: $35.85 before tax I have attached my receipt, which adds up like this: Sliders: $14.45 1lbs Cheeseburger: $17.95 1lbs Western Burger: $21.45 Total: $53.85 before tax $61.12 with tax using non cash... Something else I didn't know before I got there. That's $20.91 (including non-cash fees) higher than advertised before tax I was pissed, but I ordered the food and we needed to eat. I wish I had just walked out, but I'm not built like that. I'll just never go back. I get raising prices. They are clearly allowed, but if it's obvious someone is looking at old info or old prices, you should at least give a price before you get off the phone and note that there is an upcharge for not using cash. What makes matters worse is that the Burger wasn't even good... just like an unseasoned ball of hamburger that they grilled and put on a bun with cheese... it was not bad. It's just not good enough for that price. I like the feel of the place, though.

Mmkay, So, I had heard that the food here was really good. I should have ordered the burger, which i have heard so much about. Instead I went with the catfish dinner. They carry malt vinegar and have lemon wedges. Thats a pretty good sign for a place offering catfish. We Seated ourself and our waitress was pretty quick to assist us. She was honest, when I asked if the water waa filtered. So based upon that, I did not get water or tea. We ordered, he got a pork tenderloin sandwich, with fries. He was also able to get A1 for the fries. I ordered catfish, with coleslaw and bakes beans. Our meal came out, the portions are very generous. I receiced two large filets, very meaty. I noticed they were dark complected, the entire place is dimly lit. Which, could be nice if your head hurt. My fish was cooked crispy, and ther was quite a bit of grease on my plate. I feel like they were over cooked and they needes to change their cooking oil. He said his sandwich was 'eh - ok'. It wasa decent sized sandwich. My beans had a sweef and spicy bute to them. They were probably very good much earlier in the day. They tasted like they had been on the heat to long. Coleslaw was om, a bit dry. We will not be giving up on this place. We will go back and order burgers. Very adamant about not counting this place out. Not when we have heard so many good things. The malt vinegar they use, the bottle has a controled drip spout. I want some of this for home! We are anxious to go back and give it another shot!

I’ve been a customer of WF Cody’s for YEARS. I’ve come here with friends to play pool and eat and it’s always been a typical dive bar experience. Good food, simple service and decent atmosphere. Tonight couldn’t have been more different.

First, we had a “reservation” at 6:30 for 6 people. When we arrived, the waitstaff had no idea what we were talking about. We had to clean off and push our own tables together. We ordered a round of fried mushrooms and drinks. Everything arrived decently quickly. We ordered our main meals at the same time (6:45). Fried mushrooms came out promptly. Our waitress didn’t check in on us once. Around 7:30 she stopped by and was “shocked” our food hadn’t come out. I’m not sure why she would be expecting us to have our food when she didn’t deliver it. Our main food didn’t come out to our table until 7:45. We were excited to finally eat, however, 2/5 of the meals were incorrect. Shocker given the horrible experience and long wait times.

We asked for the food we had ordered - a grilled tuna sandwich and a burger and one more beer. Surprise surprise, the food never came. When we approached the waitress to ask what was going and that at this point we’d just like our food and the beer removed from the ticket and our ticket ASAP, we were told that she doesn’t know what’s going on, it’s her first week and they got new computers. I understand how things could be hectic, but it shouldn’t take almost an hour to correct food that was messed up the first time, and further more to deliver a draft beer.

It’s sad that this is what has come of this restaurant that I used to love to go to with friends. They need...
