In attempt to visit your restaurant yesterday evening just after 10 pm, we had an encounter that will never be forgotten. This review is in regards to the man and woman that closed your store last night, 6/4/23, at the Wendy’s on 1723 W. Republic Rd. Springfield MO, 65807.
The man on the microphone who started taking our order was incredibly condescending and rude. After several inappropriate remarks to me I told him he had horrible customer service. That apparently made him angry, he cleared what little portion of our food order he had so poorly taken, off screen, and told us to leave. At that point I demanded to speak to the manager on duty.
When I pulled up to the 2nd window there was a woman standing there. She opened the window, but did not greet me and just stared at me with an pathetic look on her face. At that moment I could see that she also has had no customer service training and had no intentions of reconciling the situation.
The woman told me that her employee did absolutely nothing wrong and that I was the problem. She also let me know that she put on a headset and listened in while he was taking our order. I find this interesting, considering when I demanded to speak to the manager, he said, “she does not have a headset so you’ll have to pull forward.”
She informed me they were not going to serve us and we needed to leave the premises immediately. Your Manager felt It was more appropriate to refuse service to a car with 4 customers in it rather then to actually address the issue. She took absolutely no ownership or responsibility over the situation. I don’t know if they were under the influence of something but the unprofessional uncalled for behavior they were displaying was very concerning. I did not appreciate the way the man was talking to me on the speaker and me telling him that he had no customer service does not warrant the behavior and response they gave me. Especially considering we were the only customers in line to order.
She even refused to give me her name, which speaks volumes for itself. She stated that “privacy laws” allowed her to not disclose her name. She already knew that her behavior was atrocious and unacceptable being that she was the closing Manager on Duty last night at your restaurant. I am truly dumbfounded to think Wendy’s would hire someone who displayed such a grotesque level of unprofessionalism. I’ve never witnessed this type of trash behavior from a grown adult in management.
I should note that there were three additional people in the car with me that witnessed this disgusting excuse for service. I work in the customer service industry for a living. I can assure you if any of my team members ever behaved in that manner or spoke to a customer the way they spoke to us last night they would no longer be employed with the company. The behavior of those two employees guaranteed the loss of business with a minimum of four customers. Each of us will ensure everyone we know is made aware of our experience at Wendy’s last night.
Please know that I will use this experience as a training/coaching opportunity with my own employees. It will be shared over and over again in hopes that no one else has to encounter an experience like this at a Wendy’s. Read moreFour stars only because right off the bat I told her I was missing a drink and she said I only paid for one chocolate milk. I had added on a chocolate milk because I have two kids and just figured they didn't charge me. Well I drove off and not only did they charge me but they argued with me and didn't give me the extra chocolate milk and I was missing the extra nuggets for my other child. On top of that, the one kids meal I did get didn't come with the toy it's supposed to come with. Part of it was my fault for not double checking the receipt and showing to their faces and another was their fault for missing it in the first place. I normally don't complain but this staff member in particular pretty much told me I only paid for one chocolate milk and had a rude attitude about it. I know people are human and everyone makes mistakes, however, being rude to a customer is not the way to go about it. It could have all been avoided if she had simply looked at the order and realized I paid $1.69 extra for a second chocolate milk. Read moreWent to the Wendy's on west republic rd twice around 6pm. The first time the lady at the counter acted either messed up or didn't care as much for her job, so ordering for a family of 4 was very difficult. She kept getting distracted and didn't like answering questions.
The second time in the drive thru, we tried ordering again thinking the first time was a fluke. But it was some guy with the same idc attitude. We tried ordering something on the menu and the guy was so rude and kept saying that they never sold the item. When we pulled up to pay, he was sitting there below the window with his arm hanging out in such a lazy I don't give af manner that his demeanor made sense. The only thing positive I could say was that he gave me kids coupons when he saw them in the back seat. We had to pull forward to wait for our food and it was still wrong and still had to walk inside to fix it.
