I strongly dislike leaving bad reviews, but this experience was just too poor not to. My son and I went here this past Saturday (roughly around 3pm) to order to go. There was a young woman at the counter who did not crack a smile the entire time we were in there despite us being kind and friendly. She just looked as though she hated life. Definitely not how one wants to be treated in a restaurant, or anywhere. Anyway, I had ordered Kung Pao with tofu and and she charged me for a chicken Kung Pao minus the chicken and add the tofu. She charged me a dollar for the tofu and told me it didn't matter that I wasn't getting the chicken. Not to allow for a tofu option without an upcharge is a very big deal to those who prefer not to eat meat. Tofu clearly isn't more expensive than chicken.
As soon as we left with food in hand my son immediately stated how rude the cashier was. I replied with, "Well, hopefully the food's really good and will make up for the bad attitude and poor customer service." Anyway, we got home to eat and I can honestly say I have never had worse Kung Pao. The portion size was decent, the vegetables tasted fresh (although still quite raw), but it was completely flavorless. I mean, absolutely no flavor whatsoever. At the exact time I was thinking this my son states to me how his noodles were cooked perfect, but his lo mein had no seasonings. We attempted to snaz it up with some Braggs, but finally settled for some sriracha sauce since it was just so incredibly bland. Anyway, just a poor experience all around for us, and something sriracha couldn't save as I just threw out my completely...
Read moreThank you China King! This is the best Chinese food in Springfield hands down! ☺️ I originally used to live in Springfield YEARS ago and always enjoyed this restaurant. I recently moved to Nixa a few years ago and could not really come often due to location. I recently came today to see if anything had changed. Literally NOTHING had changed except for some new faces in staff. The restaurant, food quality, and portions are all the same! Years went by and the food is still great! My husband who is generally a picky eater actually ATE vegetables because they actually prepared and cooked them well! Delicious and fresh every time! If you are tired of subpar Chinese food then come to this location! They have variety, decent prices, and great portions! When they came out with my food there was a MOUNTAIN! Also, they keep their restaurant very clean. When I walk in the tables are wiped and ready for people who want to eat in. They also remember your name/number/food that you usually order if you go often. They are always polite as well and make sure you get what you want. I am so impressed and might make more trips back if I am ever in Springfield again! Never change what you guys have going here! It is still working for you and customers are clearly happy by the look of your ratings! CHINA...
Read moreI’ve been coming to the Springfield area for about 30 years and have never really tried to find a good Chinese food spot. This was fun, quick, easy and affordable. My food was hot. Fresh vegetables were crunchy chicken was cooked. My soup was tasty, but not too spicy. I definitely will give this another try! I had broccoli, chicken and broccoli was crispy. I found a few extra carrots in there which I love and they were also nicely done. Everything was moist and tender. I went to the one on Republic because the restaurant reviews were better for here. I’m eating a really late lunch and they are still doing a pretty constant takeout business. I consider that a good sign too. My lunch today with $8.11. I did not get a drink out of the fountain just water. And if you’re a water connoisseur, this water tasted good not weird...
