Ziggie's Café — Restaurant in Springfield

Just went today with my grandpa. I hate tp have to write this because everyone was so nice to us. Service was great. And it's a cute place.

But. Both of us are now is terrible pain and nausea. We've not thrown up but we've made quite a few trips to the bathroom, if you know what I mean. We got home at 9am and it hit us almost immediately. Neither of us ate anything else today. It breaks my heart because Gramps loves it over here, and the food was alright. Big portions and good prices. Maybe it was just an off day but this is not the year to be cutting corners on food safety.

Food was alright, greasy spoon stuff. Tasted a but like old oil but I didnt think anything of it at the time. And the prices are good enough that I'm not expecting anything fancy but I can't handle stomach distress and my Gramps has other health issues to deal with. They need to rethink their staff for sure.. went in with some friends who as we go there once a week and get at the very least their sampler platter. Tonight on the way in we heard a very small kitten which could not have been more than maybe 4 weeks old. After trying to catch it without some food I went in to see if maybe I could get a sliver of food or maybe some cream.. oh no the old woman at the bar part had to first ignore me and than and I quote "oh yeah we have plenty of food but none I'm gonna give to you" well at that point she knew we were coming in to eat but instead if I went to the club next door. My family and I eat here quite a bit. It's fantastic everytime we go. The waitresses are friendly and always do a great job and the cooks always do a wonderful job. I recommend anything on the menu. They have great Reubens, omelets, Breakfast; fishing one if my favorites they have the all you can eat walleye, catfish, ribs and Cod fish. They have daily specials everyday. I love their chicken salads the friend ck salad is what I usually order when I eat the salads. If you go in for just a cup a coffee They have amazing coffee. They also make their own pies and if you order ahead they will make you whole pies yo take home for a certain price. I like going here because everyone always find something they like.
