!!!❤️🤯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🤯❤️!!! While looking for something new & local for dinner, we discovered this absolute treasure. Although very unassuming in appearance, Sulaiman's Cafe was a fantastic dining experience. We were treated to an homey & cozy 3 table dining area. You can smell & hear the sounds of your food being prepared by the most welcoming & friendly chef I've experienced in a while. Our requests were all fulfilled graciously & expeditiously. Our food, the requested samosas, beef teheri & lamb over rice, were all stellar. Although I can't speak to the authenticity, having no prior Bangladeshi food experience, the smell & taste were every bit as good as anything Indian I could compare it to. 😳We ate too fast, out of joy & gluttony, so pictures will have to come next time! Quick, outstanding & 🤑THE VALUE🤑 of the food IS incomparable!!! Not forgetting the friendly family environment we were treated to, which was also immeasurable. We totally felt as if a new friend was having us over for a first dinner. We ended up being the only customers left when we dined & it added to everything, absolutely. If you miss the love in the food, I'm not sure you were looking. The chef's wife was jovial & we absolutely enjoyed our conversation & interaction. My daughter & I believe their little one ( who the cafe is named after) might be the cutest baby boy we've yet had the pleasure of meeting. He entertained us immensely & was a joy to behold! ❤️❤️❤️WE WILL BE BACK. WE WILL SHARE THE PRAISES!!! THIS GEM IS A 💎❤️❤️❤️ Make sure you order from them too! Lots of take out while we dined.👍🏿👍🏾👍🏽👍🏼👍🏻👍
⭐Updated with photos from second dinner about a week later. Chicken tika masala & chicken biriyani & morog polao, an all chicken line up. The mango lassi definitely helped with any spice, but honestly the level & amount are perfect for me. Everything was just as amazing as our first visit. Again, we will be back for more!⭐ Last pic is from early October. Beef teheri, chicken tika & morog polao. Still amazing...
Read moreI recently discovered this gem.
The very first time I visited door was open but they were closed beginning that day and the following week for a holiday. The only reason the door was open was that someone had placed an online order and they did not want to disappoint that customer. So, they were there making his order even though they were officially closed. Wow. Talk about customer service. Just, wow!
I told them I would definitely come back when they were open again after their holiday. And I did. And I am so glad they are here in St. Ann. This is some of the best food in St. Louis!
I tried 6 different dishes (yes, seriously, as I love tasting and experiencing new things and had never previously had Bangladesh cuisine...nor a pizza from a Bangladesh (yes, pizza, read on below).
Butter Chicken - Excellent! Lamb over rice - Excellent! Chicken over rice - Excellent! Chicken Tikki - Excellent! Beef Tehiri - Very good! Chicken Biriyani - Very good!
Your order of preference may differ from mine as tastes vary, but you cannot go wrong with any of these absolutely delicious dishes.
Pizza - Excellent!
My son (19) is very different from me in that he does not like to try new foods, so he went with a pizza. I have to admit that I wondered if a Bangladesh eatery would have good pizza. They did not. They have one of the best pizza we have had in St. Louis!
The crust is light and fluffy with enough sturdiness to support the toppings. We usually do not eat the outer ends of the crust as it tends be be bland on most pizzas with a rising crust. We ate this crust.
The tomato based sauce just so well seasoned and nuanced. The cheese was gooey and flavorful. And the pepperoni was sliced thick (unlike most paper thin slices from the franchise places) and had an abundance of toppings and flavor. Truly outstanding.
All in all 5 out of 5 stars. Haven't said that in years. Thank you Sulaiman's Cafe for choosing to locate in...
Read moreOk- lengthy review but this place totally deserves it. Back story- I’m at my parents sitting with my dad for 4 days at home with hospice. I’m trying to keep everyone fed as we sit vigil. It’s been rough. My mom decides she is interested in Indian food. I Google, and find Sulaiman Cafe. It’s super close, which is a big concern for us, as I don’t want to be gone long. I look over the menu, it looks good! And prices are insanely awesome.
I place my order, deciding to get one of each thing to try. I add in the comments if it’s possible to text or call me when it’s ready so im gone for the shortest amount of time possible. These lovely people message right away, no problem, as well as giving me a perfectly accurate time for pick up.
I go to this place, walk in and am bowled over by how good it smells! Lovely couple are cooking away. Unassuming place, forgoing the frills you often see in many Indian places. You know you are in for some seriously authentic food.
The owners offer to help me to the car (mind you texted me to let me know when it was ready). I get the food home. Let me tell you, major hit. My mom couldn’t decide what she liked best. This is a woman who her whole life only ever would get tika masala and samosas. Every single bit was glorious! You get also really huge portions. My ginormous son was very well fed. The sauces have a subtle yet delicious spice to it. The rices are fluffy and amazing. You get some breads and salad on the side. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Even better it’s priced so my mom on a fixed income can afford to come treat herself to amazing food. Don’t miss out on some delicious food that feels like you were just welcomed into someone’s house and fed until you...
