Brown's Chicken & Slots — Restaurant in St. Charles

2-22-2019 First, don't get me wrong as we love Browns and this location is by far the best. That being said; last Friday my husband had an outpatient surgical procedure and after I'd suggested we get a late lunch. Of the several places we discussed, he was really excited for our favorite (Browns) chicken. We went thru drive-thru, and as always, the service was fantastic! When we got home, I got him setteled, and fixed our plates. The mashed and gravy, yumm, as well the mushrooms (our personal favorite) fritters, and biscuits, can't beat them! While eating I asked, "How is it?", he said, "I don't know, it's just not as good". I'm a dark meat, and he's a breast man. I looked at his and it crumbled it was so dry. My thigh, believe it or not, was also dry. We've loved this Browns Location more years than I can remember, and have catered from there as well. Never 1 piece of dried up (old) chicken, ever.

So, while it was mostly good, it was still a bit of a dissapointment. Below is my previous post, we will go back, and hope that it was a one time fluke. I'd so love to give them the 5 stars that we know their worth.

At least one chicken place has survived Saint charles and geneva area. We do not have a Popeyes we don't have a church's and the only KFC in geneva is now permanently closed. So where are we gonna get some fried chicken? Thank God Browns has survived and stayed open I thank you all and to be honest way better than KFC 100%. They have some really good fried chicken and they used to sell fried mushrooms that were amazing but not anymore unfortunately it is really hard to find fried mushrooms anymore. Yeah u can get some but these were fresh fried mushrooms not that frozen mess I know because I used to work in a restaraunt that served fresh fried mushrooms and they taste and texture was dead on but they don't have them anymore! Bring them back!! Best chicken around tho they have some really good food a little pricey but if I don't feel like driving to Popeyes or KFC etc I use to live like two blocks from churchs. Drove all the way to Browns and they were closed by 8:23pm. Not snowing, roads clear enough for me to drive yet nobody can work.

Saint Charles- Drove past BWW and KFC just to have Browns chicken and mushrooms. Please don't use the weather excuse as everyone else is open, we are Chicagoans and today's snowfall was pathetic.
