Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in St. Charles

Without a doubt, the BEST quick-serve sandwich restaurant around.

Jersey Mike's meats are so much better in taste and quality than Johnny Jim's and Scrubway, that it makes those other places "meats" look pathetic. Jersey Mike's builds amazing tasting subs using the best ingredients of any chain, period. The portion sizes of the subs are spot on, plenty of meat and toppings on a perfectly sized sub roll to compliment the meats. The roll isn't over sized to use bread to make up for a lack of meat, and they don't have to use 3 pounds of lettuce to make a good sized sandwich. Their prices are also very competitive with the other two inferior competitors.

Jersey Mike's has a fairly good variety in sandwich choices with both hot and cold subs and meats ranging from salami to tuna, with some different offerings like cappacuolo and prosciuttini. Toppings are always very fresh and the bread is never old or stale. They have gluten-free choices available also.

The employees at the Main St. location are extremely friendly and have an uncanny knack for remembering customer names. I like that in a chain restaurant - it shows me that maybe they put a little more care into their product and take some pride in their work. They're making you a good meal with good ingredients and they want you to enjoy it. They're DEFINITELY not assembly-line sandwich "artists" doling out mealy tomatoes, mystery meat and brown lettuce on icky yoga mat bread and then slathering a 1/2 gallon of "gourmet" sauce all over the abomination. Makes me shudder just thinking about it.... ugh.

The only downside to Jersey Mike's in my opinion is that they use Pepsi products. Fountain Pepsi is so patently inferior to fountain Coca-Cola that it kind of knocks the whole experience down about 0.5% for me. I'd much rather have a Coke with my excellent sandwich rather than the yucky, overly sweet nasty Pepsi that I get here. But, that's Corporate's decision and not the decision of the franchisee, so I won't knock them for that.

Writing this review has made me hungry! I know that I'll be ordering my usual #9 from Jersey Mike's today for lunch - I can't wait!

TL:DR - Jersey Mike's is the best sandwich...

Ive been coming here for years and I can say with full confidence that this is the best chain sandwich shop in STC. Jersey Mikes is a giant step above their closest competition (Jimmy Johns) in terms of food quality and this location has always been a step above in terms of service to its customers. In the years Ive been coming here, I can honestly say every experience I have had has been great. Never a bad one. The staff are always super friendly and great to talk to. They always make your sandwich just the way you like it. Never stingy with the portions. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Thank you to the owners for years of consistent great service. While other sandwich chains have taken a steep dive in quality in recent years (subway and the whole quiznos fiasco come to mind first), Jersey Mikes always continues to lead the way and be an example of what a premium sandwich chain should be. Thanks for being an asset to our local community....

The service was terrible. The young lady in the eyeglasses was upset we showed up. I asked for everything on my sandwich and she said she will only do it mikes way, if I want everything I will have to say one by one what I would like on my sandwich. She made the sandwich so carelessly, again upset that we showed up at 4pm on a Friday. This also threw off my plans because after my wife and I were going to dine inside, I had a an order for 60 giant sandwiches for the local robotics club that I sponsor on Saturday, September 2nd 2023. Sadly, because of the young lady's attitude, I am forced to go a different option which will now impede on my plans this evening. If this St Charles location doesn't need $1,000 order, I'll be glad to give it to another place who appreciates business.
