I recently had the pleasure of dining at Restaurante Delicias de Mexico, and I can’t stop raving about it! This hidden gem serves up some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever tasted, with their gorditas stealing the show. Each gordita was a perfect little pocket of heaven—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and stuffed to the brim with flavorful fillings. I tried the steak and chicken options, and both were bursting with authentic, mouthwatering taste. The salsas they paired with them? Fresh, zesty, and the perfect kick to elevate every bite. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with vibrant decor that made me feel like I’d stepped into a cozy spot south of the border. The staff were incredibly friendly. If you’re craving authentic Mexican cuisine with gorditas that’ll leave you dreaming about your next visit, Restaurante Delicias de Mexico is the place to go in Saint Charles! Five stars all the way—I’ll...
Read moreI recently tried this restaurant and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. I ordered the Tampiqueña, and my boyfriend opted for the carne asada tacos. Unfortunately, both dishes were a huge letdown.
The steak in my dish was cooked poorly and nowhere near the right temperature. It was tough and lacked any real flavor. My boyfriend’s tacos were incredibly dry, almost as if the meat had been sitting out for too long. On top of that, the food wasn't served hot—it was more lukewarm, which only added to the disappointment.
To make matters worse, the service was rude and inattentive. We felt like we were being a burden just by being there. The restaurant itself was dirty, which made us question the overall cleanliness and food safety.
We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other options that offer much better food...
Read moreThis was probably the most authentic Mexican food we’ve had in a very long time! The chips are made fresh in-house every day and are a sort of double thickness, making them REALLY crispy. The salsa doesn’t seem like it comes out of plastic buckets like many places. And the food felt very . . .authentic. You wouldn’t go there for the atmosphere or a romantic dinner (you could toss a baseball and hit the cars going by on North Avenue.) But the food was scrumptious and was served up quickly, despite having been freshly made to order. A couple of mothers of young kids came in for take-out, to our surprise, and someone called in to place their order in Spanish, always a good recommendation. The owner says they haven’t been in business at that site for very long, but they strive for authenticity. Parking is ample and easy behind the outlet. Highly...
