Fantastic, quaint and warm. This is a great local's tavern, and it's dog friendly!

I’ve gotten bad service at bars before and not had a problem with it, but this place topped the cake. Just moved to the neighborhood and my wife and I were excited that this place was within walking distance. We decided to go there last night for the first time with her mom and a friend of hers for her birthday. Unfortunately that will be the last time I ever step foot into that place. We walked in and walked up to the bar to order drinks, as one would. Proceed to wait for no less than 6 mins while the bartenders dodged us. We watched as they cleaned the bar, helped some guy who walked up after us, and casually drank beers instead of taking our order. I’m not one to complain online because bartending is part of my livelihood. But I have never felt so disrespected as a customer in my life. Would love to give this place and it’s horrible and blatantly rude service a zero. Thanks for the neighborly...

I used to frequent this establishment on a very regular basis. There was always a group with me when we went to this bar. However, after a very nasty, unpleasant experience with the owner none of us have ever gone back to this bar.

I can not strenuously stress enough that i would never, ever recommend this place and defiantly do NOT reserve the back patio section for any type of event. You will receive very poor service and then get chewed out for going over an agreed upon price. The owner will not take any of the responsibility for her employees (one of which is her son) for erroneously giving us false information when we were the ones to check in periodically to make that we were still on track!

The absolute worst part of this ordeal is the owner's mind-set and coarse behavior. I am in the customer service business and I would never treat a customer the way she did.

Avoid this place at...

Babes was established and built by old school craftsmen that lived in the area. Inside is some of the most beautiful mahogany woodworking over old brick you will find in a St. Louis pub. Its prior owner, John, and his dog "Babe", the bar's namesake, were regular features when I first came here. Then, it was a great place, always a roring fire in the winter, pleasant patio in summer - John was strict - no fighting and no wearing hats inside. Sadly, he got sick and had to sell the place and he sold it to an owner who caterers to the youth crowd - now its full of 20 something tatted hoes, hipsters, slackers and millennials. In short, the...
