My first time visiting a Chocolate bar, I went to Bailey's Chocolate Bar with high expectations. Unfortunately most of the my expectations were let down. The Signature chocolate martini tasted more of like a Chocolate daiquiri or chocolate milkshake, than a Chocolate martini. The dessert was good (we ordered the Blondie). But the wait time to get the dessert...makes you wonder if the chefs ran to the grocery store, bought all the ingredients, ran back to the restaurant, then started cooking it. It also took quite a long while trying to get our check to leave. We almost felt like we were being held against our will...when we just wanted to do was pay and leave. All-in-all, Bailey's Chocolate Bar is not for me. Perhaps you might enjoy it more though.

The Bailey's Chocolate Bar is one tough outlet to spot unless you look really closely for it. It is located across the Lafayette Park. Look for the big red door by the Police out post and take the stairs. The chocolate and cocktails are amazing and deserve a try. They offer cheese, desserts, cocktails and a variety of *hic*. The bartender attends the bar and the customer tables. It's okay when the crowd is limited but can get really annoying other times. Our wait for the cheque was longer than the total time it took for our order took to be placed and arrive. That definitely could use some improvement. Encore? Of course, yes.

The atmosphere was super sophisticated and beautiful - was quite loud though. Both of our servicers had a great attitude and were super kind. The Tiramisu martini was delicious! However, the food was such a letdown. We traveled over an hour to come and try as heard good things. We got the lovers plate (a little bit of everything) and the strawberry blondie. Literally everything was insanely dry and/or extremely hard. We were inside for all of 20 minutes, left most of the food behind, and spent $60. Definitely left feeling disappointed - we were super excited about this spot.

I was so excited to go to Bailey’s with my significant other for Valentine’s Day. So excited that I booked this table in December of 2024. It was his first time at the restaurant and my second — it has been years. When we arrived, I noticed that there was a table open at one of the couches. I asked our server how we could sit there, and he said he’d need to ask the manager. He, then, came back and told me that the manager said we couldn’t sit there because the couch has already been booked. Since I booked this reservation in December, I was able to see at the time of booking that several time slots were available. I even went back, as if I were booking for a future date, and there is no where to indicated what type of table you’re booking. So, I asked how I could book that for next time. My server, Ian, went to ask, and he said the manager told him, “there’s a special way, but she didn’t specify.” Weird. We were seated at a table that was in a very tight space. There was barely room for the servers to navigate the room, and I was constantly being bumped into. I was about an inch away from the patron at the table behind me. About 20 minutes after Ian was less than helpful, a white couple was seated at the couch table. I left with still no information about how I could book the couch in the future. Additionally, Ian was unable to answer any questions about the menu, mentioning that he was just helping out from another restaurant. Ultimately, I got the impression that when Ian didn’t know answers, he wasn’t in the business of going to seek them by anyone who worked at the restaurant. Overall, the dessert and drinks were amazing, but it is completely irresponsible to not treat your customers equally in 2025. Please be warned, so your night is not ruined because you’re not wondering if your questions are being disregarded due to how you appear...

I used to be hard on this place. It's somewhat pricey and used to have slow service by people who didn't seem to care. Despite this, I continued to return and I've had more and more positive experiences! The service has definitely improved!!

It's the cheese plate that usually brings me back to this place, although I feel like their list of choices has gotten a little shorter. But they still have some great options! Most recently we combined Gjetost, Iberico and Red Dragon and it made for a killer plate!! It was perfectly balanced with the punch of mustard form the Dragon, sweetness from the Gjetost and mild flavor of the Iberico.

They've now added fondue to their menu - two cheese and one chocolate. We tried the latter on our visit the other night and I loved it! The chocolate is served in a mug that is about half full. Me and my inner fat child wanted twice this serving, but in reality it's a nice portion. The main thing I like about this fondue is that it tasted like gasp actual chocolate - as if they took awesome quality dark chocolate and warmed it up, only adding a little heavy cream. I mention this because most other chocolate fondue I've had, you can tell that it comes from those little chocolate discs that are meant to be melted and have added ingredients that you don't really need to make it smoother and sweeter.

I'm also a fan of their brownie, but I usually swap the Bailey's ice cream for the cinnamon. I was never a fan of their flourless cake, so I wouldn't recommend that. But if you like ice cream and a lot of it, you should probably go for the Banana Split - an entire banana, three HUGE scoops of ice cream and absolutely covered with all of the toppings!

Lastly, sign up with Originals and get points every time you...

When I search for a specific establishment, for example a dessert restaurant I expect a certain level of quality. If I search for an ice cream parlor I will choose one based on the level of quality I want to pay for. So, Bailey's Chocolate bar is a more upscale dessert bar in an upscale neighborhood. The quality of their desserts is below grocery store/store bought items. I was extremely underwhelmed. None of us finished our selections. I got the Chocolate inebriation. If you read the description it states cake with passion fruit and honeycomb. The cake was dry and bland. The passion fruit was a drop or 2 under the cake and you couldn't taste it. They forgot the honeycomb. I mentioned to the server if this was correct and she acted like she really wasnt sure and never followed up. Which was fine, because after a few bites I was over it. My husband and son got the 2 different brownie dishes. Guys... these brownies were terrible. Crunchy, hard (if I had thrown this brownie at someone, it would have hurt them) and flavorless. My husband had the $12 brownie and my son had the $15 brownie. Unedible. No one is doing quality control for these dishes. And that is unfortunate. My drink was good at least. The atmosphere was romantic in scenery, but loud in acoustics. The host upstairs was rude and unwelcoming. $50 plus for dessert is only worth it if the quality is there and this place dropped the ball. I do not recommend. Owners/management I highly suggest getting the brownie at the Fountain on Locust St, or even better find a Better Than Sex cafe and give them a try to see what your establishment could be. Quality...
