This is my second visit. Could not remember the name then it popped up as a suggestion. So now I can give it a proper review. Slightly questionable location(neighborhood) Traffic seems to try to run you over. Not the restaurant fault. The restaurant is hard to tell if it's open as the neon is up under the awning at the front door. But there are two signs in the doors window letting you know they are infact open but of course you see the neon by this point. Place was clean both visits ( pre/post 2020) Last time I ordered tacos....tripe(1) and tongue(2x)... Tripe was very tasty, the latter a bit tough and chewy. This time I got a Machete!! Not a weapon but a taco...well more like a quesadilla (photos shown). I got it with pork. It was quite tasty and filling for 11$, not bad. The employees hid in the back while we ate. Which was ok, but no one checked on us after we ordered then received our food. Had to go to the counter to get their attention. Food is good, location sketchy, service is so-so. A third return?? Possibly, I saw cow feet on something, I got to try it.

I finally got to try this place. I know they have some more authentic stuff than the usual at most places, burritos, chimichangas and the likes which are tex mex but not authentic Mexican. The food was very good and did not disappoint. I’m from Mexico City and their lamb barbacoa tasted pretty similar to the one back home. The pastor was also good and the gordita de chicharrón (which is super hard to find around here) was awesome, big, full of meat and super crunchy. They have other items that I haven’t seen anywhere else in St Louis like cemitas, machetes, mojarras, etc. Can’t wait to come back and try some more stuff.

This place has to have the best tacos I've tried in St Louis! They are well priced, prepared, and proportioned. I initially ordered three like usual, but these were so good I ordered another 2! The toritillas are well cooked and lightly greased while the carne asada had a slight char, but still tender. The whole taco experience was tasty, with a slight crisp to the meat and balanced by the fresh cilantro and onions. I have to come back and try the other dishes because they all looked amazing. I'll definitely be bringing friends to experience this incredible food!

I used to live near here and never got to try their food, so I stopped in yesterday when I was in the area. The space is pleasing, with a menu that has plenty of variety plus there are specials posted on a chalkboard.

They have huge water glasses, which is a bonus for the "heavy drinkers" like me. 💧 I ordered two al pastor tacos and one barbacoa. My food arrived quickly and that server (a different one than the person who had taken my order) asked if I'd like salsa. I said sure, then he offered chips! I said sure again. He brought salsa verde and yellow corn tortilla chips. He warned me that the salsa was hot and he wasn't kidding--but at the same time it was totally addictive. I probably ate 3/4 of the small bowl of salsa, and it was hot enough to clear my sinuses.

The tacos were delicious and authentic, made with two corn tortillas and dressed only with onions and cilantro. The pork al pastor was simply delicious, and even tastier with a bit of the salsa. The lamb barbacoa was surprisingly chewy, verging on tough, but was quite tasty.

The servers took turns checking on me. I was extremely happy with my meal and nearly did a double take when I saw the bill--$10! I felt full and satisfied. I felt like I was underpaying, so I tipped well. I'll...

Great service and good food. They have maduros - fried plantains. The best Mexican rice - so flavorful and full of veggies. Well seasoned cooked well and a perfect complement to the delicious steak. My steak nachos contained a great amount of rice. A little heavy on the cheese but I like my nachos lite on cheese which I probably should've mentioned when I ordered.

Make sure you use the green and red sauce!

Team salsa Verde here: fresh cilantro and fresh avocado it must be made fresh daily because I could taste the herbs like someone just ground them all together. Plenty of kick.

The red sauce was equally fresh - maybe guajillos and fresh tomatoes, not tomato paste.

I tasted the hubs fried tilapia- wow! Getting that for...
