READ ME!! TOO EXPENSIVE
This is just an average restaurant. It is way too expensive for the type of service received. In addition, the waiter staff was extremely rude. This place gets an Average rating for their food, but a poor rating for trying to imitate an upscale authentic Indian food cuisine and charging accordingly. TOO MUCH $$$$$ don't waste your money here
We had a party of 11 people, in which a reservation was made in advance of this date. When we arrived, they did not have a record of a reservation, and therefore we had to wait for 20 minutes before we could be seated. Soon after we were seated, another 20 minutes elapsed before a waiter arrived. Drink orders were taken and took 10 minutes for those to arrive. Even so, they didn't bring all drinks out at once, but one or two at a time. It was very strange. The same was done with our food. Generally, everyone likes to get their food at the sametime so that they don't have to wait around for everyone else before they can begin eating.
When it came time to pay our bill, our waiter was very disrespectful. We had asked prior to ordering if we could split the bill by couples. He agreed, but when it came time to pay the bill, he said they would not split the bill. After we reminded him of the agreement to split the bill across couples, he rudely suggested we split the bill across 3 credit cards, and those that were paying cash would give their money to those paying with credit cards. We ended up speaking with the manager who agreed to split the bill as long as we split it ourselves. This involved obtaining a pen, writing our names next to the items we purchased, and adding it up on the back of the receipt. Complete chaos.

Read moreA week in advance I had made reservations to have dinner with 45 people at Rasoi. So last night, October 21st, the day I had the reservations everyone shows up to have a wonderful dinner at our favorite Indian restaurant in STL. The staff knowing we had 45 people, there were 4 people still left to be seated. (The room wasnât even big enough to fit that many people, yet accepted the reservation.) But we had asked for an extra table, but the lady owner said no we can only give you chairs. That was not the only problem, she wanted 6 people to be seated at a 4 person table. How were we supposed to eat comfortably??? We asked if we could have a table in the dinning room. Her answer was no because it was reserved. She said, âall of you guys have no sense to talk.â What does she mean?? We are the customers and your the person that is supposed to satisfy us with a wonderful dinner experience. But instead you talk extremely rude to us saying we were being rude to you and saying that we insulted you in front of your employees? But in reality you insulted us and yourself!! We never insulted you!! This will be our last time at Rasoi and Iâm so glad that all of us walked out on you and you loss your business in front of all your other paying customers who were dinning in there. Definitely donât recommend this place. Go to Indiaâs Palace to get a welcoming customer service because they made us feel welcomed after we had no clue where to go eat without a...
Read moreUpdate: Went back with my mom, so just two Indians this time, and the spice level on the vindaloo was fantastic, much spicier than last time. The food was just as delicious as the first time otherwise. The service this time was definitely friendlier too. Fantastic experience, upping my rating to a 5.
Original: My current favorite Indian restaurant in Saint Louis. The food was tasty and all the dishes our table tried had distinct and delicious flavors which seems to be a real problem at a lot of other places.
We tried the vindaloo, Tikka masala, karahi chicken, and rogan josh all of which were delicious. The naan was also the best that I've had in the area by far. The tandoori chicken and samosa were both just alright. The tandoori chicken didn't come with any charred veggies which was odd and the samosas were so not greasy it almost seemed baked rather than fried. Also the potatoes in the samosa were lacking a bit of salt.
I do also wish they would up the spice level a bit though at least for dishes like the vindaloo. We specifically asked for it to be spicy and it came out very mild. Not sure if that was due to being with American friends so it was more geared towards an American palate.
My other issues were that the place is a bit pricey for the portion sizes, and the service was just okay. The servers did well enough but they weren't very friendly.
But overall I was happy with the experience and will definitely be...
