Saigon Cafe has so far been one of the best dining experiences I have had in St. Louis. The food is incredible, the cocktails are delicious, and the staff is super welcoming and insightful. My fiancé and I arrived early and sat at the bar to have some pre dinner cocktails. Eddie, the bartender and mixologist extraordinaire, was amazing. We ordered a Smokey version of an old fashioned, a lavender mule, and a lychee lemonade. He even makes his own tequila which sells out fast! We also had the pleasure of speaking with the other owner, Mike, who provided insightful information into how their food is made, the story of the origin of Saigon from their opening and his mothers homemade recipes that they have in the menu, and guided us in the right direction for the food. We had a lemongrass chicken, a crispy beef dish, and we even ordered items to go so we could have their food at home the next day. You can tell that everyone and everything at Saigon cafe is handled with care and extreme attention to detail. Anca and the front of house staff were super friendly and also insightful and aided the experience as a whole. The price of everything is reasonable and won’t burn a whole in your pocket. The food is fresh and the dishes are large, but they don’t make you feel like you ate too much. We highly highly recommend you check this place out. Thank you to Eddie, Mike, Anca, and the rest of the team at Saigon for not only an incredible meal, but also for an incredible experience. We will definitely be back more than once in the near future, give this place a try and I promise you...

I am from KC and I’ve heard a lot of nice things about this place. I gathered up a group of friends and family to drive to STL to visit the city again. While we were there we went to get some Vietnamese food from Saigon Cafe. Little to say SERVICE was kinda disappointing. Greeted and sat down by the young Asian lady, was very nice and polite and gotten our orders in but never came back to check on us. We came in from a hot sunny noon day and inside the restaurant the ATMOSPHERE was very hot kinda uncomfortable to stay for a while, you definitely got that genuine Vietnam experience out of it. The ice was basically melted that’s how hot it was inside. We asked for a refill a couple times but never received it. Let’s talk about the FOOD, it’s definitely not the best Vietnamese food places I’ve been too. It’s very westernized and not your typical Vietnamese cuisine. I am very open to coming back and trying it again since it seems like it wasn’t the best pot maybe it might be different next time. Gratuity was never mentioned either on the menu nor the waitress had mentioned it before we had ordered, and was also very high for which the services we received the day. The PRICING was overall expensive for the food the group had ordered, and it ended up being sour. The prices for the spring rolls was higher than expectations because of the size portion of the rolls. This is not me hating on this restaurant, this was just my honest opinion on how everything went...
Read moreSaigon Cafe in St. Louis turned out to be a great find for a quick dinner stop before hitting the road. As an out-of-towner with a craving for pho, I was thrilled to see it on my google maps. I opted for the pho with ribs, and I must say, it was absolutely delicious.
The broth had a slightly sweet undertone, which added a unique twist to the traditional flavors. It worked surprisingly well, especially in complementing the tender and flavorful ribs and meatballs. The portion size was generous, leaving me satisfied and ready for my journey.
Aside from the pho, I also tried their egg roll, and it was simply amazing. The crispy exterior encased a flavorful filling that was both savory and satisfying. However, the fried rice was decent but not exceptional. It lacked a bit of flavor and didn't stand out compared to the other dishes.
One minor hiccup during the dining experience was my sprite being flat. The staff was quick to respond and replaced it twice, but unfortunately, the issue persisted. On the third attempt, they managed to provide a properly carbonated, sugary sprite. I appreciated their effort in resolving the matter, as it was out of their control.
Another positive aspect of Saigon Cafe was the peaceful and quiet atmosphere. It wasn't crowded, allowing me to enjoy my pho in a serene environment. Overall, Saigon Cafe in St. Louis is a worthwhile stop for pho lovers, offering tasty dishes and attentive service, despite a minor issue...
