Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in St. Matthews

My wife and I were excited to grab some ice cream on Labor Day and decided to come here. Big mistake. First, my wife ordered the 'Surrender to Strawberry', and the lady working who was obviously new was asking my wife what goes in it (even though it's on their menu) and then had to call someone to find out what whipped topping was. The toppings were not proportional either and it ended up tasting horrible. Then, I ordered the cookie dough menu item and she went for the chocolate ice cream which I had to correct her that it should be cookie dough ice cream, then she proceeded to put white Oreos in it instead of cookie dough pieces. Which I just let her do at this point because we had been there for 10 minutes and my wife was basically done with her ice cream at this point. Then when it was time to pay she didn't know how to operate the cash register. So another call had to be made and another 5 minutes of standing there go by. I don't blame her because she was new but how can management be so irresponsible to let someone so new and unknowledgeable about the menu and register to work at the store by themselves?! Worst experience and won't be going back....

Recently relocated to Louisville and decided to take my son for ice cream. We walked into the store 10 minutes to closing. Even before the door closed behind us, we were greeted with a shout by the employee behind the counter stating they had a line, were closing soon and would not allow anyone else in the store. We left in disbelief as this has never happened to me before. As we got into our car to leave, I noticed other patrons going into the store and not turning around to leave. I called the store asking if there was a manager on duty and if I could have their name to speak with later. I was told the managers name was confidential and I could leave a message or call back before the employee hung up on me. I understand that 2 teenagers/young adults can get overwhelmed but the rudeness was really...

When I arrived I was the only one in the store. The clerk asked me if she could help and I told her that I had pre-ordered a birthday ice cream cake. After she was gone for two to three minutes, she came back saying they did not write happy birthday on the cake. She informed me that she was not allowed to do that but the manager was supposed to be on his way in. she called the manager who told her to tell me that they don't charge anything for the writing so everything should be okay. I ordered the cake for a birthday so I needed it to say happy birthday. I feel like this was not appropriate for this manager to say that and I also feel like he was trying to resell the cake if I didn't come in to pick it up. I will be contacting Cold Stone creamery as this was an independent location. I would not recommend...
