We were in town for several days and love to eat at old time diners, so we were excited. Walking in was what we expected. A cute little diner. They still had up Christmas decorations. We sat down and the waitress came over and took our drink orders and then came back for our food orders. The food looked good when it arrived. I poured syrup on my pancake and dug into it and ate some of my bacon. I happen to look on my plate while I was chewing and saw something in the syrup. Upon closer inspection, I noticed it was an ant. At first it did not register, but then I looked at the glass jar that held the syrup and floating on the took of the syrup were numerous died ants. Disgusting!!!!!!!. The person that I was with, had also put syrup on her order. When the waitress came over I quietly told her of the issue and had her take the food away. She offered to have them cook me something else, but by this time I had seen ants 🐜 crawling on the window and the wood meeting the window. They did not charge for my order, but did for my companions order, knowing that she had used the same syrup. Neither of us took another bite after realizing there was ants everywhere. So not even a fourth of our meals were touched. The waitress apologize, but when the female owner charged my companion and we were on one check and I was standing with her, the owner did not say a word. Not an apology or anything. So if you don't mind some extra bug protein in your meal feel free to eat at this establishment. They will not charge you extra, but they will charge you. It is obvious that there is an ant problem throughout the...
Read moreI love the idea of an old fashioned Diner. The fact that you can grab a bite to eat especially if you are like me where your up late don't feel like cooking and your hungry and just want to relax. Tried this spot here and was hyped up by my coworkers as one of the best food places to go to in Stamford. Though I went at 12am on a Saturday morning and the place seemed to be pretty packed. The gentleman that was supposed to be seating people struck up a 10 min conversation with the people in front of me about sports. When he was done he decided to point me in the direction of one of the tables. The table I that I was seated at was horribly disgusting. While I was taking off my coat the waitress had the nerve to ask me what I wanted to drink. Almost purposely oblivious to the fact the table was filthy. Took almost 15 min for someone to come by and clean the table. I ordered the Pizza Burger medium well. The meat was dry and the burger patty was less than half the size of my finger. Thinnest "burger patty" I've ever seen and it was loaded up with lettuce and gigantic tomato slices. The worst Pizza Burger I've ever had. The waitress only came to my table once. Just a bad time all together very disappointing. Definitely didn't live up...
