Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with this location. I am on my way from Boston to NYC for a very important event Sunday afternoon, I placed a take out order between 1pm and 2pm, and indicated pick-up time at 3:30pm. At 3:25pm, we got there, and was told food was not ready and need to wait. We waited 10min, and then another 10min, and then another 10min. At that point, it's very aggravating! I asked the receptionist if she could check on it, and I got a very impatient "I already did, just wait." She rolled eyes on my kid and had such a long face. YOU REALLY NEED TO TRAIN THIS PERSON AGAIN! I know it's not her fault, but after 30min waiting for a takeout order that was placed more than 1.5 hrs ago, and should be ready 3:30pm, anyone with common sense should figure there must be something wrong! She just kept on saying, "It's not my fault your food is not ready yet", well yes it's not you INDIVIDUALLY at fault, but can't you be more helpful? After we said we were really in a hurry and asked her to check with the kitchen, she answered with a very clear ARROGANT "I already did". She was just unacceptable!

If I can give a 0 star, I would, but since with Google one has to pick a star, this star goes to the server named Lucus (I hope I got it right). After he listened to my elevated complaint, he rushed to the kitchen and found out that order never went into the kitchen. My card was charged for the order amount, which is more than $200. He said he would work on it to get it refunded. I will come back and update if I get the refund.

Now, because of this receptionist's completely oblivious receptionist skills, I wasted a whole 40 minutes there, which resulted in my kid getting to NYC late for the final rehearsal/performance! I had left more than 30 min wiggling time for picking up the order and getting back on the road, but because of this receptionist putting us on a useless wait for 40 min, we were late. We were so looking forward to trying the food there, yet we paid the money, with order confirmation and details, but did not get the food at all. And that's another thing, the order is showing "received--in making--ready" on my phone with their Track Your Order service, so I don't understand what the problem with your restaurant is.

I hope I can hear back from them, and if I do, I will update here.

7/29 update--I have received an email saying a refund has been issued. I was also contacted by the store manager Bruce. He was very nice, apologized for what happened on Sunday, and offered for us to go again with the bill on the restaurant. So that's more like it, a real offer that shows they care. I will keep the 1 star rating as-is for now, just so that ppl who saw this would understand what had happened, what had fell short, and what had the restaurant done to make it up. If I end up going late August or in the fall and the experience turns out to be exceptional, I will update this...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ 5 STARS – Dumpling dreams do come true at Nina Xang Soup Dumpling!

We had our team dinner here during BaseCamp, and let me just say—this spot over-delivered in the best way possible. First, the dumpling selection was enormous—I mean, an assorted soup dumpling tray? YES, PLEASE. I took that as a personal challenge and tried every single one. (Zero regrets. Only happiness.)

The chili oil deserves its own shoutout—spicy, rich, flavorful. I loved it so much, our amazing server packed me some extra to take home like a little parting gift. Total MVP move. Speaking of service: top-tier! Friendly, fast, and genuinely happy to walk us through the menu like dumpling tour guides.

The ambience was stylish yet cozy—a perfect mix for a casual team hang or a more intimate night out. Several of my friends ordered rice and noodle dishes, and the way they inhaled them… you’d think they hadn’t eaten in days. That’s how good it was.

Oh—and the bartender? Absolute legend. Hilarious, welcoming, and clearly a master of his craft. He made killer drinks all night and even surprised a few of us with a complimentary shot. It’s rare to find a bartender who feels like part of the party, but he nailed it.

Here’s the kicker: I literally went back the next day for lunch because I couldn’t stop thinking about those soup dumplings. (They were calling my name, okay?) Worth every bite again.

Whether you’re a dumpling diehard or a curious newbie, Nina Xang is a must-visit. Delicious food, warm vibes, and staff that go above and beyond. I’ll definitely be back—and this time, bringing more...

Have been trying to find a soup dumpling near me for such a long time that when I found out Nan Xiang opened I immediately made plans with my daughter to try it. We got there around 5:30pm and was greeted by such a big smile from a friendly hostess. Within seconds we were seated, brought a menu and given cucumber water. Since it was our first time we decided to review the menu a bit longer and asked the waitress to briefly explain the best choices on the menu. After some deep consideration, we decided to go with Pork Soup Dumplings, Fried Rice and Sesame Seed Ribs. The moment the food was brought out, me and my daughter looked at each other and right away pointed out how amazing the smell was and immediately went in with our chopsticks. For the next 30 minutes all we could say was how tasteful the food was. One of the staff members greeted us at our table and asked how everything came out and our reply was "Absolutely amazing, thank you so much." After all the food and drinks, I was honestly surprised on how much the bill was, Only $48.00 for 3 orders that left us completely full. We couldn't stop bragging about the place and mentioned it to everyone who would listen. Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings is worth trying, they will not disappoint. We are already planning out next trip there. Thank you Nan Xiang staff for the amazing food and amazing...

Nan Xiang Soup Dumpling has recently arrived in Stamford, backed by the legacy of its original Flushing, Queens location, which has long been recognized as one of the best soup dumpling spots in the country and even earned Michelin attention. The Stamford outpost carries that reputation forward, and the quality shows. Their signature soup dumplings are the highlight for many diners. While I’m not personally a big fan of sipping soup from a dumpling before eating it, I can’t deny they’re top-notch. What I enjoy most are the other offerings: soupy noodles, fried rice, and entrées that consistently burst with flavor. The only drawback is the crowd. On weekends it gets packed with families, couples, and flavor-seekers, which can make it a little hectic. Still, that energy is part of the charm—it feels like the mark of a true, popular Chinese restaurant. For me, though, the real reason I’m here two or three times a week is my mom. It’s her favorite spot in town. She’s stubborn, fierce, and sharp as ever, and when she declares this is *the* place, I roll with it. With most dishes under $20, it’s practical as well as delicious. Nan Xiang may be new to Stamford, but it has quickly become a local favorite—and in my family, it’s already the go-to.

Honestly was quite underwhelmed by the taste/overall flavors. The only thing I would recommend from this place is of course, the xiao long bao which was succulent. Thin wrapper with a juicy filling, you can’t go wrong. However, one of the “top recommended” items that we ordered was the shredded beef & pepper noodle soup that I wouldn’t go for again. We brought our own chili sate to put in, but the broth is originally slightly clear. It seems like they use the same broth from the XLB in the noodles, and for a noodle dish it lacked body and flavor other than saltiness. Disappointing. The sweet and sour pork spare ribs were tender, though it wasn’t my favorite. The beef tripe in spicy sauce could’ve had more of the cumin-y base, it was overall just not so memorable for any of the dishes other than the soy milk and cucumber salad. It wasn’t busy when we arrived, and the staff were very kind and attentive. Food came out fairly quickly, absolutely no complaints there. It’s disappointing because this location is beautiful. Decor is lovely, and it has a nice ambiance. Parking is located right next door and is super affordable. I drove about 37 minutes to get here, but for an additional 30 I would make the drive to the New York location next time.
