Visit this place for your fix of great Mexican food and drinks! I was able to visit the Stamford location of Puerto Vallarta on a busy Saturday night. For a larger party of 6, the wait was about 20 minutes. After looking around for bar seats, you’ll notice tons of art and tequila bottles that line every wall of the restaurant. Even the ceilings were filled with green plants making it look upscale/trendy inside. After being seated, you’re met with a great menu of Mexican food. Pictured are the Tiradito Nayarit (tuna sashimi with avocado, apples and yellow habanero sauce), Combo Texas (Chile Relleno, Chimichanga and Burrito), Surf and Turf (Lobster and Ribeye), Carne Asada and Steak Fajitas. Throughout this menu, you’ll just want to try everything when you come back. The easiest way to do this on your first try is by eating the combo option. Everything plated was outstanding and gave you a choice of beef, chicken or vegetables which makes it flexible. If you know for certain of what you want, their entrees in meats, chicken and seafood are all spot on. One of specials mentioned was a bone-in tomahawk steak which was captured on video as it was finished via torch table-side. Now onto the drinks - every cocktail ordered was definitely well mixed and somewhat heavy handed so know you’ll leave satisfied with one or two drinks. We ordered Mai tai’s, Estrella Beer (Local to Jalisco, Mexico), a Michelada (arguably based with tequila), and the Margarita One. The one item I’d say to order to continue visiting is the guacamole table-side service. You’re greeted with a cart full of ripe avocados and get to order guacamole and chips to your liking (not spicy, mild, very spicy). With this order, at the end of your meal, you’re given a postcard that grants you a free guacamole order for your next visit. Sadly they’re timed with expiration dates so plan accordingly. Moving onto desserts, pictured are the molten lava cake, fried ice cream and churros. Again, everything was perfect. My favorite was the fried ice cream as it seemed to be covered in cornflakes which were super crunchy. One last bit, every 20 minutes or so the night of our visit, servers would light Clase Azul bottles with sparklers for diners that are celebrating birthdays and sing/clap. Definitely speak with your server to arrange anything such as this or even cakes as they allowed balloons and plated their own desserts in towers for guests that asked. It was a great touch. Know that this restaurant is a chain but also know that Stamford is in a class of its own. Shout out to Jonathan that helped our party throughout the night. Can’t wait to come back and get...

ATTENTION FELLOW YELPERS !!!!
If you want the most amazing experience from beginning to end , you need to visit this place …
The host / Hostess have a big smile on their face when you walk in , we walk into the bar area and it is absolutely stunning , their decor is so authentic and unique .
Our bartender Thalia was absolute very best , very professional , attentive and fast , she provided us with the best service we’ve had in a very long time ( so Thalia gets 5 stars on her own ) ..
The food was served hot and with a great presentation , seasoned to perfection , we had the Arroz con Pollo and the Camarones a la plan ha and I must say this was by far the BEST Mexican food I’ve had in YEARS … I asked for the manager and was greeted by Thomas , a lovely gentleman , I told him the food was simply SPECTACULAR and to please give my compliments to the chef .. about 15 minutes later Chef Ivan came to see us and yet again another very pleasant person . GORDON RAMSEY SHOULD definitely try this place .
Chef Ivan creates amazing dishes that are seasoned to perfection and the presentation is great . I never eat all my food at restaurants, I ate ALLLL my food today :)
We are now about to leave and we are surprised with a stunning complimentary dessert tower that included tres leeches cake ( to die for ) tiramisu , cheesecake ( baked to perfection) and churros with dulce de leche on the side . They certainly perfected the presentation on that . And YES I ate mostly everything on that tower . YESSSS IT IS THAT GOOD .
Place is extremely clean and their bathroom is simply spotless.
I would like to once again thank Thomas , Ivan and Thalia for their outstanding service .
This is a MUST place to visit if you are in Stamford. !!!

As others have said, the food here is good so I'm not going to waste time on that. The problem is how they try to overcharge us every single time on the drinks across at least 6 or 7 visits we've had. We had a different server every time so I'm suspecting this practice is being condoned by the restaurant itself.
Every single time when we get the kids drinks, they charge more than what's listed on the kid's menu, Yesterday, it was $7.25 for each virgin pina colada drink, when the price on the menu said $5.25. Charged $4 for the Shirley Temple when it was $3 on the menu. Even threw in a $1 charge for Sprite that we never ordered. Yesterday the excuse for overcharging for pina coladas was that they gave us adult-sized drinks instead of kids. Of course, they didn't mention this or ask if we were ok with this. Of course, the drinks were the same size as we had gotten on previous visits. No excuse or explanation as to why they overcharged for the Shirley Temple. Or the Sprite.
Previous visits they overcharged us because my wife ordered virgin pina coladas for herself, apparently because they were for her, even though they were the SAME size as the pina coladas for the kids! Again, no mention of higher price when the servers took the orders.
At the bar during another visit, we got a $16 cocktail with like 8 ingredients that was poured out of a premixed bottle. Then they added one ingredient and ice. My DRAFT beer (listed separately from the bottled beers) came in a bottle. But at least they didn't overcharge us on those drinks.
Will stop going to this dishonest place going forward even though their food is...
