Springdale Diner — Restaurant in Stamford

Today was an absolute disaster. My girlfriend and I walked into the restaurant with high hopes, but it all went downhill from there. I ordered what was supposed to be a delicious steak that cost $18, only to discover that it wasn't steak it was beef. How can they advertise steak on the menu if it's not real steak? Not only that, but the steak was poorly cooked, and I ended up getting sick from it. To add insult to injury, the rice they served was bland and undercooked, with hard grains that were almost inedible.

When we finally decided we couldn't bear to stay any longer, we asked a waiter for to-go plates. It took an excruciatingly long 20-30 minutes to get them, despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't even busy—there were only three to four other tables occupied. To make matters worse, when I tried to signal the owner for some attention, there was no acknowledgment whatsoever maybe because I'm a minority.

My girlfriend explained that the kitchen was behind on orders, which I understand can happen, but we were in a rush to leave. As a result of the delays, I ended up missing an important appointment and had to reschedule with one of my clients.

I used to be a regular at this restaurant, but after today's debacle, I have serious doubts about the management. It's clear that things have gone downhill, and I definitely won't be returning...

This place was a surprise that hit the ballpark! I don’t do this often but I want to recognize my server, I don’t want to put her name in public but let’s just say it’s Sara with an S, one small issue was I did not notice a name tag. But with her service I got over that first let me tell you she had me try the French toast with strawberry and banana , I don’t like fruit much and i found out it was bomb . Also we did begin a bit shaky because Sara was doing a good job but seemed upset, I can’t go into personal details because I don’t know them. But I told her like I tell my daughter, chica wear your smile like it is your hottest clothing and make sure you show sass and confidence as a woman and men will respect you like a queen. She really took to my advice and she was smiling the entire time after. A small word of wisdom can really change a woman’s attitude and I was there for her. I hope management is good to this young lady and keeps giving her guidance and loving support as a community I did that. Keep coming back here for that French toast and I will keep making her smile, please tip your waitresses well people they work harder than most people. Food is okay, it's a diner so the standard is not very high to begin with. Okder waitress messed up our sons order. It was supposed to be kids pancake and bacon 9$ inclding juice. The receipt billed 10.50 for one pancake and 2 pieces of bacon and the juice was an extra 2$. When i brought this to her attention she blamed us for "ordering extra bacon" which we would never do bc our son doesnt even like bacon. Finally she begrudgingly took the reciept back and proceeded to bad mouth us from across the room as evidenced by nasty looks from her and other staff.
