The Whale Tea Stamford — Restaurant in Stamford

I’ve been waiting for an authentic bubble tea place for so longgggggg. Previously I had to go to Flushing or Manhattan to satisfy my craving. I’m beyond thrilled that The Whale Tea opened up a store in Stamford. There’s a wide range of selection, including some that I haven’t seen elsewhere (e.g., crystal series, creme brulee series).

The service is a bit slow, which is understandable given they are so new. That being said, the staff was very friendly which led to me visiting several times during their first week of opening (I think they opened on 11/1). The store is also very cute and clean!

I’ve already tried 6 different drinks on the menu. All of them were delicious! My favorite ones are: The Whale Crystal, Grapefruit Fruit Tea, Taro with Fresh Milk Tea. Brown Sugar, my go-to drink bubble tea, was...

To be honest, I have not even gone in. I've been jonesing on bubble tea ever since everything shut down and it was difficult to get to New Haven to go to ViVi. Then I found this place online when I was searching randomly the other day. Well, count me out. The prices are insane. $6.25 to $7.25? I could drive back to New Haven 45 minutes away and spend less total including my gas than if I drive 15 minutes to Stamford. For seven dollars, that bubble tea needs to rub my back and make me dinner before I drink it. Jesus lord. I'm almost insulted.

The other reviews say it's really good stuff but there is no way it's good enough to merit those ludicrous...

I come here at least once a week. So happy to have a real milk tea place here in Stamford! Miss these from when I lived in New York.

Really interesting menu with pretty middle of the road prices for a nicer milk tea place. Sometimes they have specials. Today, we tried the Rose Milk Tea and we're happy with it. Very cute spot and a good location. Also, the cups are nice; I reuse mine at home.

Still new so they're not fully staffed and a little slow. I recommend calling ahead since they do pick up/take out, delivery, and dine in + online ordering. On a busy day wait times can be ~20 minutes.
