Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Starkville

I visited this location today and will let you know now I will NOT be returning any time soon. I was appalled at the behavior of this Newks. My fiance and I were sitting outside on the Newks patio today, I was eating my NEWKS meal and my fiance was eating a hamburger he picked up in the Mcdonalds drive thru. We were asked to leave the premises mid meal because he was eating mcdonalds. Now, I would like to point out that I paid money to eat and was eating Newks food!! So needless to say we had to pack up and leave (side note: this is the 4th visit to this Newks that has failed to give me silverware to go)I am appalled at this rude behavior and will probably not eat here for awhile. I would like Newks to be aware that on approximately a biweekly basis, I take my child to play in the playplace at Mcdonalds and because I do not eat Mcdonalds food, I ALWAYS pick up Newks and eat it at Mcdonalds while she plays. NEVER ONCE has Mcdonalds asked me to leave or cared that I bring it in. I always advertise Newks product and business, but this was absolutely rude the way it was handled and conducted. I should have asked for a refund on my meal and gone elsewhere! I will make sure I let everyone know of the service I received here. Also, when I went inside to find a comment card or manager to speak with, there were none to be found and the manager stood there not making eye contact as to acknowledge what he had ordered. Ok ya'll, let me tell ya about Newk's Eatery! Our son and daughter wanted to treat my Mom, their grandma out for a lite lunch. We of course choose Newk's. This Eatery has a very pleasant atmosphere and such a cute design. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and gave us such great service! Their friendly smiles and attentiveness to customers was great! Now let's get to the food ya'll. We ordered a shrimp poboy w/fresh fruit, a philly steak sandwich w/ coleslaw, a pepperoni and sausage pizza, and the Italian sandwich w/pasta salad. When we tell you good, we mean good! Newk’s in Starkville is a fantastic spot for a delicious, casual meal. As a well-run chain, they offer consistently great food, a clean dining area, and a friendly, welcoming staff.

The French Dip was excellent—tender beef with caramelized onions and a flavorful horseradish sauce on their delicious bread, served with rich au jus for dipping. The Chicken Club was just as impressive, packed with fresh ingredients and great flavor.

Their mac and cheese was perfectly rich and creamy, and the side salad was fresh and beautifully presented. Everything was well-prepared and satisfying.
