If only i could leave 10 stars! Cafe nine twenty-nine hosted our daughter’s coffee bar and wedding reception. The staff were the consummate professionals: welcoming and cheerful, yet competent, responsive and efficient. The buffet was beyond fantastic in presentation and flavor! The brisket was, hands down, the best we’d ever tasted (and we’ve tasted a lot of brisket in our lives!) Many of our guests exclaimed over the flavor.

The presentation of both the coffee bar and buffet was beautiful, contributing to the quiet intimacy of the “coffee shop vibe”. As the hostess, i feel like cafe 929 offered our guests, most of whom were from the upper U.S. and Canada, a wonderful and gracious example of southern flavors and hospitality.

Thank...

WARNING: THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL COFFEE PLACE... it's the nitty, gritty, real good stuff.

If you are looking for good, strong coffee in a very warm and rustic environment, this is where you should go. Filled with many graduate students, locals, and dreamers, 929 Coffee Bar offers a variety of strong or sweet coffees made for the true coffee lover. The interior is beautiful, and the employees really emulate what makes a coffee shop amazing. There are classes and often art set-ups throughout the year. I haven't tried any of the food, but it always looks amazing. Did I mention there's an underground part with big tables for students to study together, or groups to host bible studies? I love this place, and I'm sure...

I have to preface this with: I'm not a coffee guy. I went into 929 for the first time with my girlfriend who was visiting from Birmingham and wanted coffee one morning.

Ever since, I've been going at least twice a week. The sausage muffins are absolutely divine. I've started to really enjoy my morning mochas. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable, they always answer my noob questions about coffee in lamen's terms without making me feel like an out-of-place idiot for not understanding all of the different types.

I kind of wish I understood what bad coffee tasted like so that I could truly appreciate how good the coffee is.

Great atmosphere, as well. If I was a student I'd be here often studying and...

Had to renew my plates and desperately needed a caffeine fix so my daughter and I decided to give this place a try. The frozen and iced coffees and the carrot cake we ordered were tops. However- they have outside seating, yet no food or drinks out there…??? and they serve their food and drinks in/ on glassware but then they don’t tell you what to do with it once you finish (btw, you bus your own table/dishes. Not complaining, just letting those that never been aware). Also, as I stated, the drinks were amazing, cake good, and we paid roughy $25. Honestly, I think it’s a little pricey considering the drinks were just average in size, you must stay in and eat and then bus your own table. But that’s just my opinion 🙃

The pour over ( KABEYWA ) is good and tasty; The place is clean and calm. The staff are friendly and helpful and I will definitely be coming back here again Update: I visited today ( Nov 20, 2020 ) and was completely shocked of the decrease in quality. I used to say to my coffee lover friends, this place is my favorite for specialty coffee because it gets coffee beans from a reputable place “ Counter Culture coffee “. However, I was disappointed this time, I ordered latte and it was served in a cracked cup, and was not steamed properly, the milk tasted like water! Also, there was no latte art at all.

My favorite coffee place ever!! I have a weekly visit to sit and knit or crochet and drink coffee and listen to music and just exist for a bit. The atmosphere is so welcoming and the staff have gotten good at remembering my usual order!! That's absolutely amazing! It's also great when I bring my kids, my youngest gets a kid temp hot chocolate with all the whip cream. Food is always great, the energy balls are perfect for grab and go. I truly look forward to visiting! If you're looking for FABULOUS coffee, great atmosphere and yummy snacks, look no further! They have it all!
