The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. But the ribeye came out super over cooked and the French dip meat was extremely dry. At our table of 8 people 3 got the French dip and all barely ate half. When the ribeye was brought up and angry cook came out and said no one at the table knows what medium is and that french dip meat should be dry and that’s what the aus jois is for and that’s how it’s done in the south. We are here on a work trip and all 8 people are from different states including the south. It was insane how combative this cook was. I would highly recommend not coming if this is how the kitchen thinks food should be cooked and have this extreme behavior. It was very awkward situation. We will be notifying our other colleagues coming to not come. Traveling every week I am shocked this place has any high reviews. It makes me question if they are friends of the owners. And also that night the cook looked at the credit card receipt and stalked our friend who used his card to pay. SO INAPPROPRIATE.

updating to add a reply to the owners response. The waitress was NEVER yelled at. I even mention in my review she was nice. Also to accuse me of being with the other team is sad on your part. I work in television. I was there for television. No one was rude other than your "chef". Also your meat isn't top sirloin, it's D grade overcooked strips. That table had people from 8 different states who eat out half of their meals on the road. We know what food tastes like. And then to say it's ok for your "chef" to go online stalking the person who paid the bill is actually a complaint for the better business bureau. Which will be...

We (my boyfriend and I) came in at around 12 pm on Saturday, Oct. 29. Not a game day weekend and not busy. We stood by the door waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes. We saw only one woman actively working the entire time behind the bar, who finally came over to seat us. After that, she went back to continue to working behind the bar and waiting other tables. We sat and watched as one man began working behind the bar for a few minutes only to leave and for us to not see him again. There were two other people, that we originally assumed were customers because they were drinking and chatting at the bar, start clearing off tables outside. So are those two wait staff? If so, why are they drinking and chatting on the job? After about 30-40 minutes of waiting, the woman working the bar came to ask for our drink orders. She then went back to working behind the bar, and we proceeded to wait another 15-20 minutes before finally just leaving. I can’t even say what the food tastes or looks like since we didn’t even get menus or drinks. Edit after owner response: for all your passive aggressiveness, you could’ve at least looked at the right couple. There was a couple that came in after us and also didn’t get waited on so...

We visited The Camp House and while the service was commendable; especially considering there was only one waitress handling the entire dining area the food left much to be desired. We ordered two appetizers, including nachos that were so stale they were nearly inedible. The hamburger meat had a soured taste, making it very unpleasant.

We also got a kids’ chicken nugget meal, and the nuggets were so overcooked they were difficult to even cut. Our main dishes included fried fish and Cajun pasta, but unfortunately, both were disappointing and lacked flavor, we’ve had far better elsewhere.

While we appreciated the effort from the staff, the quality and taste of the food didn’t match the price, which felt steep given the overall experience. Our rating reflects the poor food quality more than...

We had a group of 6 tonight. Every person’s dish was great!!! My Seafood & Grits was outstanding! The Chicken Carbonara was excellent for 2 guests. The Shrimp Alfredo was rated a 5 by one. And, the fried catfish was true to Mississippi expectations! This was all of our first visits here. No one was disappointed. We will return the next trip to Starkville!!! The pic is my Seafood (shrimp and crawfish) & Grits!!! YUMšŸ˜‹

Phenomenal ā€œLOCALā€ place. Owner was amazing, took his time to greet and visit with us. A place where you get the local vibe, near campus.. food was amazing. The French Dip was amazing.. The Artichoke Dip was very well blended, not chunky, had amazing taste. I highly recommend visiting The Camphouse when in Starkville, we will definitely be back soon. PS - The BeeršŸŗ was cold 🄶!!!
