Wanted to enjoy a nice dinner with my partner and we decided we wanted to try Coconut Thai. When we walked in, it was awkwardly quiet and then the host, who also appeared to be the only server, told us to sit at any clean table. She looked around at every obviously dirty table and stated that it would take a minute because the restaurant was short staffed. So without being guided by the host my wife and I walked to a table that just so happened to have menus on there already. So we sat and looked over the menu still excited to try the food and proceeded to wait for the server to acknowledge us. During this time another server had appeared from the kitchen but only ran food to the tables. She cleaned one table and went back in the kitchen about 5 times passing our table and coming out empty handed. We were never acknowledged and honestly at this point it would've been nice to at least have a drink. After we were ignored too many times we decided to just get up and leave as the food would not have been worth it. Picking up plates off the dirty tables and giving them a wipe down would've taken at most a minute or two. It overall was very unprofessional, the host wasn't hospitable, and seemed to make excuses about being short staff when she could've just cleaned the tables. The restaurant was also not busy at this time, half of the tables were empty but dirty. Genuinely turned off from wanting to come back and I didn't even get to...
Read moreSmall Portions, Average Quality Food! A small and very congested place. There are a few issues here....First, if you pay with debit or credit card, you must pay a 3.5% fee, so, that should be enough to lose interest in this place. But, we decided we drove all the way there so might as well give it a try. When we placed our order, our waiter was writing everything down (or, that's what it seemed). So he leaves the table and comes back 4 times asking questions about our order; things that we had just told him a minute ago. Which tells me he was not paying attention at all, and most importantly, what the heck was he writing down? I have been to many different Thai restaurants and have never seen portions as small as they are serving at this restaurant. I had requested my dish to be "medium spicy" and it was as mild as couscous. No spice at all! So I ended up getting hot sauce from him. If you like eating spicy food, you know that food tastes better when it is cooked with spices. If you have to pour sriracha after your meal has already been prepared, it's edible but not awesome. Chicken Satay (chicken on the stick) was "paper thin;" so thin it was hard to taste it when I took a bite. The fried rice tastes best when it is moist, however, mine had so much moisture I felt I was...
Read moreFor the area, it's decent Thai food. I would rate this place higher but they served me burnt food and that's unacceptable. I was visiting and I decided to give this place a try via online order. I didn't want to order too much until I knew if I liked the food. I ordered Tum Yum soup with chicken and spring rolls with plum sauce. The soup literally had 3 little and I mean LITTLE pieces of chicken. For $8.74, I expected more than 3 pieces of chicken and broth with mushrooms. The flavor of the soup was good. The spring rolls were burnt. One was placed burnt side down so I didn't notice it until AFTER I bit into it and then I had that horrible burn taste. The other roll was visibly burnt on both sides. I scooped out some of the filling and it was very tasty and so was the plum sauce for dipping. Unfortunately I wasn't able to really enjoy it due to it being burnt. I'm not sure why the burnt it in the first place. There was literally NO ONE in the dining room when I arrived. Maybe dine in option would be better. My suggestion, please do a quality check before...
