Well a sign has been at the door ....saying now hiring .... but I get this alot ...they take one look at me n see, oh, she Mexican..... I have went here several times I know been trying n been trying n been trying to work here the location n the hours of operation works well for me but unfortunately....like how they said ....the breakfast server was already filled the only serving job I've seen that didn't have breakfast n I applied for lunch ..... because I also have a small family. I take care of my self it's just me n my lil boy for bout for almost 6 months. I have seen now hiring signs at places, but when I apply ... I always get that the positions have already been filled I have had a rough life being Mexican American...n it's harder for us to get a job with out people assuming we can't speak English well but yes I speak 2 languages n I am a good worker ...I have my own transportation.... but it's all good I'll jus get what I can basically imma have to get whatever job comes ...I have bills like everyone else n I have to feed my kid ...but God bless yall ...I guess it was a sign for me not to work...
Read moreI have a troubled relationship with Fordham's because on one hand they're the big local Southernly-eating sort of establishment that's bound to thrive here but on the other hand their food could really use a big heaping helping of my grandma's cooking because most of the food there, to me, feels more like a dry and slightly off-brand take on some real traditional food with tradeoffs and issues I don't really understand. Like you stick this big hunk of fried chicken in front of me and I'm like "okay, nice, this chicken probably couldn't even walk while it was alive cause it was so big" but then I start digging in and next thing I know I'm passing out from dehydration in the middle of the restaurant because my server couldn't get a tenth glass of water to me fast enough. Why is the fried chicken so dry? Why is the shepherd's pie good always a little too salty? Why do the green beans taste like that? Read moreI got the meatloaf, the rutabagas, and the mustard greens. There are not a lot of places that I can get laced cornbread so historically I always go for that. However, this time I looked at the rolls and thought, I bet that is good. It was my favorite part. I was trying to be a little healthier which is why I skipped on the mashed potatoes and chicken fried steak. Those are probably my preference and make up my previous 5 star review.
