I have always been a fan of Cracker Barrel and eat at them often but today’s visit was terrible. I should have taken a picture of my plate and regret that I didn’t for proof. I have included a photo of my receipt instead. We got two plates of chicken tenders and they were sad. There were about 6 tenders on each plate that were small and extra crispy and each plate had 8 French fries. The 2 cokes we got were $3.29 each! I’m gonna have to bring my own next time or drink water. We had pretty sad service as well. The young lady who seated us gave us 2 silverware sets even tho there was 3 of us (one being a little person). We ended up asking for napkins, silverware, the included drink for the little one, condiments and drink refills. Nothing was offered but was brought to the table when we asked for it. Nope, she wasn’t busy….she had around the corner phone time. Oh and no children’s menus…. They were out. We check out and I came within a hair of saying I didn’t want to pay full price for those meals. I probably should have but we were wrestling a toddler at the time and I couldn’t do much more. Here’s the kicker… While I took the toddler out, my daughter stays behind to purchase an outfit for the little one. She goes to pay for the items ands the gal at checkout says “I don’t have any large bags. Which one of these reusable bags do you want to buy for your items? This one costs $1.49 or this one for $1.79?” What the heck? My daughter purchased one 3T toddler outfit and you mean to tell me you don’t have a bag to put it in!?! Or are you trying to make some kind of bag selling quota? I don’t have words for this.

Update, WE ARE DONE! CB wants to get woke and rainbow- give them my table... Server was great! Food was hot and prepared perfectly. Missing the hot roast beef sandwich and couple other items. New items not to my taste. Need FRESH vegetables, not frozen! Fresh collard greens like your competitor has down the street. My DW had Mama's breakfast and brother-in-law had country fried steak. I enjoyed biscuits, gravy and smoked sausage patties. Additional review, 3 weeks later: Aug 1, 2022 This visit was at supper time. Hostess " Ansliegh" was helpful with seating us close to entrance because DW is walking with a fractured foot in a boot and walking cane. DW brothers joined us for supper. They had, grilled sirloin steak, country fried chicken and sides. DW and sisiter jn law had grilled chicken tenders and I had fried shrimp. Food was well prepared and correct. Very nice server and Hostess.

On this visit, our server was very nice and the food arrived quickly. However, THE MAIN reason for us choosing Cracker Barrel was for the S'mores Brownie Skillet--which they were out of! Next, the pancakes we once enjoyed were NOT good at all!!! The edges were not crispy anymore and they were so thick that the centers of the pancakes were gummy or not cooked thoroughly. After I expressed my unhappiness, our server relayed my concerns to the manager. She apologized for not having the items needed to make the S'mores Skillet, explained that they've recently changed product in regards to the pancakes, and gave me a LITTLE off the bill to cover the uneaten pancakes. I'm learning that I've got to stop thinking that I'm paying for convenience, because convenience has been very INconvenient lately.

This was really a bad experience. I rarely, rarely, rarely give a bad review of a place and am very forgiving, so pay attention. I was visiting family and they wanted to go to a restaurant, so they chose Cracker Barrel. It was a Monday night, not busy at all, and there were only four of us. No matter where we seemed to sit, the other members of the family were uncomfortable with the setting sun in their eyes. I ordered the roasted turkey salad, as an entrée, without croutons or cheese, dressed with olive oil and vinegar. That is it, very clear, that and nothing more. It took an inexcuseably long amount of time for the food to come out. I mean it took a REALLY long time for this food to come out, and we weren't visited by the waitress as we waited. When it finally came, my salad came out with other diners' small pre-dinner salads. Am I supposed to eat my entrée before everyone else and then sit through their meal? The turkey was sparse and all the salad consisted of was a bed of tasteless, watery lettuce and a few chunks of tomato. And a piece of cheese. At this point, I wasn't yet defeated. I passed the cheese to another diner and tried to get the waitress's attention for some onions, at least, to give it some flavor. Other members of our party began needing things-- lemons, napkins, beverage refills. We finally were able to get her attention (I was halfway finished with my salad, and had been slowly picking at it), and asked for onions (and lemons, you know, keeping it simple). At this point, the other diners were getting antsy for their food-- especially the one of us who hadn't gotten a pre-dinner salad. It had to be a good ten minutes before their food was brought out. The diner who had ordered the hamburger asked for mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup, and I re-requested my onions, and the lemons.

Look, am I frustrating you yet? Am I boring you yet? Do I really need to continue? How about this: Bland, tasteless, slow, unfriendly, inaccurate, frustrating, low-quality. Three pieces of rotten lettuce in my salad. The only merit as far as I'm concerned was being brought a bottle of real Extra Virgin Olive Oil to dress my salad-- but even that wasn't...

Not sure what has happened here, but this place has gone way downhill. Sorry for the long rant. I will start by saying it was a party of 2 and a 1yr old. It took 30+ mins for us to get our food. The people that were seated well after us received there food before we did. The biscuits came out with the food, not before like all the other tables that were close to us. Thankfully I had snacks for my 1yr old who was hungry and getting tired of waiting on any food. The person who brought the tray of food out preceded to stand with tray of hot food over my sons head to serve it, which I politely told him to move over. (I'm sorry, but it should be common sense not to hold a tray of heavy plates and hot food over a child's head. Since apparently it's not, I think it would be a good idea for management to put that into their training.) We order the chicken and gravy over rice and told the server we were going to share. We weren't brought any extra plates, but thankfully they stack dishes so we just made due. The dish was very good after we asked for extra gravy because it only had maybe a tablespoon on the whole thing. During Check out We had to stand there a good minute or 2 for the lady to finish talking to her co worker before she even started to check us out. Once she did start the only thing she wanted to do was sell us stuff. She never once said hello, asked how we were doing, or how was our experience, just do you want to buy this or 5 other things she offered. Not one single person, the entire time that we were there asked how everything was including the manager that had to fix something on the computer for a gift I was buying. There definitely was no southern hospitality or good customer service for that matter. I didn't say anything in the store bc I'm not one to make a scene, and I didn't get extremely annoyed until trying...
