Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Statesville

So where to start. We walked in at approximately 4:45 Sunday evening and the restaurant had roughly 10 tables with people at them mostly in the bar area. We were set to the right away from the bar. The waitress(Elizabeth) came over with a severe look of disgust(rbf) on her face like she hated her job. 1 of our party wasn't here yet so we went ahead and ordered our drinks and chips & salsa. We received the drinks in a timely manner, but no chips. The other member of our party(4 people total) arrived and ordered her drink at 4:53. It was received in a timely manner as well, but no chips still so we ask again for the chips. The waitress disappeared for a while then came back to take our order(also without chips again). We all ordered the 3 for me with 3 soups and again a reminder of the chips. At this point 2 of us are out of drink and no offer to refill them. The waitress turns in to Houdini or we turned into ghost and she acted like she couldn't see us for multiple minutes. A member of our group spoke up and said chips as the waitress walked around us and she gave us a dirty look. At 5:32 our soup arrived, still with no chips, and then at 5:36 the food arrives and yes you guessed it NO CHIPS! Oh and I about forgot but 2 of us are still out of drink with no offer to refill! At this point I'm ready to just walk out without eating and go give our money to another restaurant and server that deserves it. I told the manager to take my food back I wasn't even hungry anymore due to the terrible service and atmosphere thus far. One of the meals was supposed to come with broccoli and it didn't come so we had to flag down another waiter to get it for us since our waitress wasn't around. The Statesville Chili's has become pathetic and needs better management and service providers! We won't be back and I advise everyone else to look elsewhere for meal needs!!

Update: We tried it again tonight and it was much much better! The service was good and the food was great! We did have an issue with getting the wrong item with one of our marks, but it was fixed promptly and apologized for. This experience was a complete turn around and hopefully it'll stay that way...

Never work for this place! My boyfriend was fried yesterday after only being there a week and a half just for simply asking questions!! He worked the fry side yesterday not only did they get mad for him asking questions he was alone and even had to prep his stuff twice! Considering he has a TBI which also gives him a little memory issues so he sometimes has to take a literal second to stop and think about what is next. This place is flowing with rude workers especially the grill cook from that day (7-27-25) and yes he did inform at least 3 managers of his medical conditions. I already figured they were going to find a BS reason to get rid of him because they took their time giving him his uniform( literally got it the day he was fired) when everyone else that was hired around the same time or after him got theirs within the first couple of days being on the job!!! I will be spreading the word to everyone I know to not go to this horrible place! The food isn’t that good to begin with!! Just absolutely horrible people that work there especially the management and cooks!! Do NOT try to get a job there!! I wouldn’t waste my time eating there either!! I’ve worked in the restaurant business for many years and they deserve to be sued over that or at least the owners should clean house! Also the cooks DO NOT wear gloves or proper hair covers!! The cook from yesterday has long hair down past his butt and doesn’t wear a hat or anything! So owners might need to check on that because I know for a fact that’s not allowed and the fact that no gloves are ever used while cooking peoples food is not allowed!! I called this restaurant an hour before our arrival to let them know we had a party of 15 coming at 12:30 for lunch . We arrived to the restaurant at 12:30 , was seated and our drink order taken right away. Everyone got the drinks Farley quickly except for myself. I wanted over 30 minutes for my drink. When I reminded the server that I still needed my drink she Informed me that the drink runners were behind and she would get it shortly. Needless to say I waited another 15 minutes before I got my drink. We placed our food order and waited over an hour and half for our order. When they finally started to bring out our food two individuals never received their food , some of our orders where wrong and we had to ask many of them to be boxed up to go .I asked to speak to the manager and he refused to come out and speak with me. I finally walked to the hostess and asked to speak to the manager again and he came out.I Informed him of all the issues we have had and he turned the situation around on our party. He stated we was not going to do anything about it we where rude to his waitress ( which we where not) and made her cry. As a matter of fact we where very polite and patient with her. I did not blame the waitress one bit for the service we had today. She is not responsible for the kitchen . She was simply folding under pressure because she could not help with the situation. I truly hate this waitress had to be in the middle of this today. The manager should absolutely be held responsible for the way he is running this restaurant. I will never go back to this...
