Stayed away from this place for a year because it was getting kind of bad before covid-19. So I gave this place another shot. Came here during the week at a odd hour around 4 p.m. For some odd reason they were only filling up the bar section of the restaurant. I asked the hostess and she said there was no available servers for the main section of the restaurant at that time. Notice there were only two servers working all of the patrons around the bar. They seemed very understaffed. While sitting at the bar section notice the windows look like they had not been cleaned for a year or more. Also noticed place didn't feel clean at all inside the restaurant. Went to the restroom and it was not very clean and needed paper towels also. Now where the rubber meets the road how was the food? Yeast rolls and cinnamon butter were awesome. However salad did not look appealing had very little topping like carrots bacon and cheese were sparse. The Logan's of old was always generous with their side dishes. Always add pickles an onion and croutons. The croutons were very soft not a hard cracker texture like they're supposed to be. The server said that's because they were not laid out to dry long enough because they make them out of their old yeast rolls. Probably something I would have rather not known! Without asking they butterflied my wife's Teriyaki steak because she ordered it well done . They are supposed to ask her if she wants it butterflied or not. Most people like thicker cuts of meat . Because I have been to many Logan's in the Southeast I was aware they could Teriyaki season any steak on their menu or chicken. I have done this at numerous locations and they do not charge you extra. However here they wanted to charge me extra to do it to a meal that cost around $20 for a single platter of food on a combination meal. I don't think so! The combinations are already way overpriced feel like a better price for combinations would be 15.99. They also do not have any military or senior discounts. So there for the meal for just two people was around $50. Definitely not a good bang for your buck! Both me and my spouse's meal were about below average. The broccoli side dish was a little bit tasteless. Most of the Logans we go to have bigger broccoli sprouts with some type of garlic type seasoning that makes it taste better. Here it just tasted like a hint of butter and maybe lightly salted. Which is okay but we like the flavoring they use that most of the other Logan's for the broccoli. For some reason the rice I got as my side dish tasted like they had dumped a carton of salt on it. It was also not as good as the other Logan's rice pilaf has been. Unfortunately server seemed a little bit under confident on my meal. He kept apologizing . This also made me a little bit uneasy about what they were serving here! So the combination of dirty restaurant and lack of service here as well as lower food quantity and a higher price point. Definitely this place is not in keeping with the three C's of diners and dives! Which are cleanliness, cost-effectiveness, an awesome customer service the last of the three things that make a restaurant great. Need to get more servers so you can sit everywhere in this restaurant. Need to just take time and close this establishment and clean it thoroughly!!! My favorite Logan's is at North Myrtle Beach does this quite frequently at least twice a month. They usually do It on mondays. This helps them keep a clean restaurant from top to bottom twice a month. Also they don't let it get out of hand like this Logan's has done. They also offer military discounts which this one did not. Definitely will skip this restaurant for a while doesn't have anything really appealing going for it right now. Unfortunately I have to give you two stars!! Go to Myrtle Beach sometime and see how the North Myrtle Beach Logan's runs itself. Maybe one day this place will get the magic back that made Logan's so wonderful years ago. Right now this establishment is not doing too well. May God be...
Read moreI've been going here for years now and the food use to be great! Today, New Year's Eve, around 4:30pm my partner and I wanted to visit before the rush and we were hoping for a good visit. I saw an employee going in at the same time as us and thought, "He's not in a good mood", and I hoped we don't get him. The hostess was cheerful, smiling, and friendly. She sat us at a booth as we prefer and then our server came up and it was him. I could feel that he was not happy and did not want to be at work! I tried to make small conversation to crack a smile but, that didn't happen. As we needed a little time because they changed the menu format he seemed impatient as well. Then, we ordered our food and an appetizer. First mistake was lite ice was a full glass of ice with my drink. I just didn't say anything. Our food comes and my combo order was wrong which thankfully he noticed right off and had it go back to correct. That was great but, then I think it was the manager who brought out a plate covered with the same peppercorn sauce I didn't ask for. The server again had to take it back to get the southwest BBQ sauce instead. That manager wasn't even apologetic about the issue. The server did apologize because he was so focused on making sure my partners' food was right because of his allergies. I was understanding of that though. My partner had mashed potatoes and gravy that was highly over peppered! He told the server to tell the cook to lay off the pepper! Also, there was so little BBQ sauce on the ribs and both our chickens and the kitchen used to have them decently covered. No longer true. As, I ate my meal and watched the staff that I saw going around there were only 3 smiling employees and the manager was not one of them! As my partner and I were almost finished with our plates although I was still eating the server asked if he could take my plate. I said, I'm still eating", as there were several bites left. That and then he brought the ticket and then came back as I still had a couple of bites left he asked are we ready to take the check. I hadn't even sat a card or cash down when he asked that and was still eating the last couple of bites of my meal. At the same time while there the table behind us had eaten their whole meal and that manager went to them and we overheard a complaint after they had eaten everything. That manager comped some of their meal! Now, my meal was correct after the third time to the kitchen and this manager didn't even come to offer anything nor did the server. Now, I am seeing that the color of his and their skin is the preferred way to get free food! At least the server did acknowledge his mistake but, the second one was the kitchen staff and the manager didn't seem to understand what I ordered. The negativity in the restaurant tonight was not inviting at all. Again, 3 employees are the only ones smiling and not any other employee! I miss Craig...
Read moreI don’t like leaving Mid or bad reviews. But at the same time I want to be honest. We passed by here on our way home the other day because we were craving a steak and the local steakhouse weren’t open because it was a Sunday. I think it always goes to say that local places are 9/10 usually better than chain restaurants. But starting with the good things. This is a larger location so we didn’t have to wait at all and there seemed to be plenty of sitting in the restaurant, the staff was great, they were all kind and friendly, and our sever was very good. He treated us almost as soon as we sat down, he was helpful and checked on us regularly to make sure we had what we needed. The rolls were an abnormally large size, 😂, BUT they were fresh and they were good also! We ordered steaks and a burger. We didn’t wait long for the food either which was nice. I don’t usually order steak because I find my self always preferring what I can cook at home as apposed to going to get one, but we were out of town and hungry. lol so with that being said, the steaks were still pretty dang good! Especially for a chain restaurant. Logan’s is definitely one of the better chain places to eat. The burger we ordered wasn’t that great though. A preference thing? Maybe. So I can’t say that it was a lack on the kitchens end. The thing I didn’t really like was the table and the floors. You know when you want to go and eat some where but the table feels sticky and slick at the same time? Like they’ve been cleaning them with the wrong product for 15 years and just recently found the “right” stuff to use, but there’s still scratches and loose laminate on the surface? lol Well it was like that. And the floors had that weird almost slimy feeling to them. Like they’ve kitchen and staff aren’t the only ones who needed to wear non slick shoes, but the patrons also. I’m not saying it’s from lack of momentary cleaning, but I do think the place could maybe use a deep cleaning and refresh. The bathrooms were clean though and everything else was too! But I can’t help but to really dislike that “slimy” floor feeling. Or the feeling of not wanting to let my arms touch the table while eating. We kinda left with that feeling of buyers regret, like “yeah, it was okay, but kinda wish we wouldn’t have spent the money.” It would be a toss up on going back to this place again or driving the extra hour back home to just make my own food. But I wouldn’t say that I’d count them all the way out. Especially if I had to choose between them or their surrounding neighboring chains. Over all it was decent, and minus the burger the food...
