China House Restaurant — Restaurant in Staunton

In the Staunton city restaurant community, there are almost a dozen Chinese food places to eat. And I've been to them all more than once in my 40 years as a Stauntonian... And there can be only one that outshines and remains the clear superior Chinese takeout place... And that winner is China House. Sure it's smaller than the rest, tucked away in a hole in the wall across from a battered downtown HoJo and neighbors with the local ASAP location and several empty store fronts, but there is a reason why China House has remained steadfast and comfortably busy over the last three decades: China House is fast, tasty, and reasonably priced. They are rarely closed since they don't seem to observe any Western holidays, the owner/cooks are hardworking and honest, and perhaps most importantly they are diligent in providing a clean and sterile eatery. Cleanliness is close to godliness they say, and when it comes to takeout spots and the food my family eats I couldn't agree more. My plumber friend has done repair work in almost every kitchen in the valley, and he gives me the skinny on why China House is superior. Superior refrigeration, rigorous attention to dish and hand washing, and plenty of soap and hot water keeps china house far away from the steely claws and vomiting proboscis's of rodentia and flys, the same can't be said of any of the other restaurants in town. I won't go into how bad particular other Chinese food places are, but suffice to say if you want hot, fast, cheap, and disease free you better opt for the one and only china House. Pro tip: Their menu may seem small, but china house can whip up almost any dish you can think of, so don't be scared to ask for that special vegan dish or that authentic fish soup you heard rumors about online... I haven't had Chinese Food in a long tie, say about 5 months. And since it was the last night of the year... I was bringing in The New Year with a friend. There was no doubt inn my mind what I wanted, and where I wanted it from.

I ordered the roast pork with fried rice and vegetables...Her order was Chicken and Broccoli. I wasn't expecting broccoli in my order and was about to be disappointed because I don't care too much for... Wait, this is ..OMG!! I think my tastebuds changed without telling me. I'm glad now there was all the broccoli in my order. Nice big not too thin slices of roasted pork. Though I think they could've splurged more with the fried rice, but I was salified.

I think my friend ate two bites and that was it. I had the rest of mines for breakfast, and her almost complete order for lunch New Years Day. And what made it ALL worth while... I got a calendrer!! Reminds me of being back in The Bronx... Ya always get a calender for the New Year, but you have...

They made my food dry and just because i wanted them to remake my order that i paid for they called the cops on my husband and said that we could never come back not to mention the fact that they didn't even refund me my money after they said they would over the phone!!!! And i have even found bugs in my food and they say that its oil when you can clearly see that its really a bug but they dont want to fix their mess up!!!!! So i do not recommend anyone to get food from them because they are careless and rude and don't like to fix their mistakes!!! Also the plastic silver wear they gave me with my order was open and only 1 of them had a fork so my husband had to wait to eat his food because we had to share 1 fork because they are so careless and...
