Title: A Culinary Haven in Metro Detroit

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hug Baan Thai in Metro Detroit, and it's an experience worth raving about. This gem stands out as the best Thai restaurant in the area, seamlessly blending exquisite decor with a culinary journey that elevates the senses.

From the moment you step inside, the attention to detail is palpable. The ambiance is a perfect balance of sophistication and warmth. The decor is not just tasteful; it's an integral part of the dining experience. The atmosphere at Hug Baan Thai is a testament to their commitment to creating a memorable dining setting.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the red curry. It's not just a dish; it's a masterpiece. The flavors are harmonious, the spice level is perfection, and the presentation is as delightful as the taste. Each bite takes you on a journey through the rich Thai culinary tradition, leaving you craving more.

What sets Hug Baan Thai apart is their friendliness and the consistency in their commitment to excellence. The restaurant isn't just about serving food; it's about crafting an entire experience where every aspect, from decor to cuisine, is executed with precision and passion.

If you're in Metro Detroit and crave an authentic Thai dining experience, Hug Baan Thai is the destination. It's more than a restaurant; it's a haven for those who appreciate the artistry of both decor and cuisine. Your taste buds will thank you, and your soul will savor the memories of a truly...

Saying I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. If you’re looking for a westernized interpretation this might not be the best choice. I love this place for its authenticity. I lived a few years in Thailand and my father had a restaurant just north of Bangkok (I’m part Thai & have a bias). I’ve lived in Michigan for 13 years now and this is the closest place I’ve found that replicates a typical Thai eatery. The chef has mastered the formula for proteins. Typically Thai food is cooked quickly (although it has considerably more prep than other’s…Indian is close)and if not done right you’ll have rubbery consistencies…not here. Traditional Thai foods balance acid & bases more intensely, whereas most westernized Asian fair uses syrup based sauces versus the flavor extract from the ingredients.

The interior is quaint, but slightly cliche, however not uncommon…even my father’s place looked similar. It’s not uber trendy, but very clean and organized well. They take the extra time to even arrange their napkins to look like roses. It’s evident this attention to detail is reflected in their food too. I don’t give 5 stars often, but this place deserves it…if I could give 6 stars for food I would.

Khrap khun khap, dee alloy!!! Thank you, very tasty. Give these guys a go if you want to try something amazing. My only regret is that I ordered too much. It brought back great memories of my late father’s cooking style. As Arnold Schwarzeneggar would say,...

What a hidden gem 💎. This place was awesome!!! Super clean and plenty of seating. Started our meal with the Tom Kar soup and shrimp rolls. Soup was spicey and creamy with a hint of sour. the only thing I would change was the protein I selected. I'm not a big fan of the chicken. Flavor of soup and freshness of veggies was spot on. Shrimp rolls were crispy and not greasy, paired with a light sweet sauce. Entrées were beef and shrimp pad Thai noodles and a peanut curried chicken. Beef was tender and shrimp plump and cooked to perfection. Noodles were super spicy. FYI, I ordered them medium, and they were pretty spicy to the point where my lips were burning and sweating a bit. So if you don't like spicey, don't order the medium. Peanut curry was delicious as well, just not a big fan of their chicken. The chicken was sliced really thin, and the marinade changed the texture of the meat. Would try it again only this time with shrimp. The Thai tea was amazing, helped with the burn of the spices. Would definitely recommend this place and will be back for dinner again.. Thank you for a...
