I put a layaway in on 7/17/15.After the intial $40 deposit The total was $2071.52 . The original delivery date was set for 10/11/15. I called and cancelled the delivery on the morning of 10/11/15 ,but I went into the store and I made a payment of $1,000. My new Balance was $1,071.52. On Thursday 5/19/16 I called to find out my balance and set up a new delivery date. I was told my items had been delivered on 12/16/15 . Furious, I asked where the items had been delivered. The associate then says ,"Oh ,I see you took the money off the bedroom, living room and dinette and put it on 2 mattresses and you picked them up 12/16/15 . I said sir, you've obviously given my things to the wrong person, how did you allow someone to make account changes AND "pick it up" without them showing proper identification? He nonchalantly told me to come in the next day and the Store manager Damon Blount would be able to show me the tape, and the signature abd resolve the issue. I asked for the regional manager's number, proceeded to call him and left a message giving a full run down. On Friday May 20th ,2016 I arrived at the American Freight, Warren store and spoke with a very lackadaisical Damon Blount. He showed me the customer pickup log, and I adamantly explained that that wasn't my signature. I asked about checking i.d of the person who claimed to be me. He brushed me off and said I'd have to take everything up with the regional manager. He then implied that I must have given someone my information, because "they knew the exact layaway amount, and the remaining balance" . I was floored, and said the only people who had that information are the store employees. I went to my car to call Doug Troop, regional manager. He also was no help at all. He said the tapes don't go back to December, he can't do anything for me,he can't prove that I did or didn't receive the two mattresses. I told him I believe this is fraud ,also that it's an inside job . He very nonchalantly told me to call the police, there was nothing else he could do. I'm beyond pissed. Further action...
Read moreI had a couch & love seat in lay away for a few months. I went back to pay it off and have it delivered. I also bought a new bed. As I was on my way home, I happened to look at the receipt. I noticed that they had the wrong color of furniture listed. So, I turned around and went back to find out what happened. The saleman told me "oh no, that it was a different set" . I was shocked & I told him that's not what I had put in lay away. He's like well you can pick out a different set of furniture. I ended up talking to the manager who admitted that he wrote up the order and the computer had mde a mistake. That wasn't on fault. He made a $400 mistake and expected me to accept that. He should've made the correct adjustment and let it go at that. But, that's not what happened. I ended up having to lesle the bed behind and pay more on my furniture set. This is not the way to do business. He screwed up and I didn't get what I paid for. I have no intention of doing business with this place again. The manager should have made the adjustment on this and given me the bed and furniture set for the amount I paid to begin with. If anybody wants to do business with this place, make sure to double check your papy work before leaving early store. Now, I hope the delivery goes smoother tomorrow. By the way, I have to wait til the end of this week to get my money back on my credit card. Plus, this manager was supposed to email me and call me to confirm that everything is ajusted properly because his computer system had stopped working while I was there .This was a very bad experience. Any other business would have handled the situation more professionally. Because of this whole mess I'm giving this place only one star. And They don't even deserve that. I also have noticed that if someone has a complaint listed on a review, the company doesnt acknowledge it. They only seem to acknowledge that happy customer. Too bad they can't try to satisfy the customers that got the bad service in order to make things right. As I said before I have no intention of...
Read moreI am giving a honest 3 stars only. This is why. I want to state that I dont have a gripe just things you should know before putchasing anything from this company. I purchased a dual reclining love seat and dual reclining couch. The most expensive set they had. I also purchased a bar top dinette set as well. I paid a total of $2000.00 out the door. Now they say "same day delivery". This is not true, it should say sometimes same day delivery. You need to note that AFMW. Does NOT do delivery but 2nd party does. This means American Frieght cannot be responsible for same day delivery or next day deliveries or even late deliveries. Oh, or damaged furniture, fees or anything within that realm. So you will not receive any consessions no matter what the case. Period! Beware. Now for the furniture, everything they have or offer is from off brand manufacturers. Not like Art Van or Gardener White. This means quality is par or subpar at best. There is no warranties offered by American Freight but only by yhe manufacturer which is really as is. SO INSPECT YOUR FURNITURE CLOSELY BEFORE IT COMES OFF THE TRUCK. Once it is off the truck and setup at your home, that is it and good luck. If you are planning to by this furniture to have over 3 years and still expect it to not breakdown you will find out the hard way this will not be the case. So going into it knowing this. I have had my set (loveseat and couch) and the padding is breaking down after 4 weeks. It will last about 2 to 3 years if I alternate to the floor every once in a while. The foam padding that these off brand manufacturers use is the most expensive part of the furniture and they use the cheapest they can get hense the breakdown sooner. So good luck on your purchase. Hoped this true and honeat...
