Hootenannies — Restaurant in Sterling

My colleagues and I stopped here for lunch today. The place was very busy when we arrived at just after 12:00 p.m. We were welcomed and seated promptly. We had to rearrange some tables in order to fit our group together. The server was kind and quick to help out with the rearranging. Hootenannies has a nice selection of beers both on tap and in the container. The sizes for the draws are generous both in the small and the large. The menu is easy to navigate and the selections are well suited for the environment. The prices ranged around the $10 mark for most meals +/- a few dollars. I ordered the "Ultimate Burger" and it came as expected. It was HUGE! Lots of protein and plenty of cheese to offset the meat. The burger was one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Good flavor, cooked to medium well yet very juicy. The entrees proportions on the table were huge as well. The cost to food ratio is excellent in my opinion. I spent $20 for a lunch with a large beer and a large burger. If you are traveling along I-76 in either direction, Hootenannies is well worth with the stop for a nice lunch or dinner. Don't expect to get in and out quickly but take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, especially in the warmer months when you can sit on the patio. Highly reccomeded by local employees and hotel staff. Reccomendations did not let me down. Bartender and server were very attentive and friendly, even while dealing with some less the ideal guest. My drinks was filled and didn't run dry. I got a Fav option being the ultimate burger with pulled pork, jalapeños, BBQ sauce, provolone and pickles. The burger was pretty decent. The patty itself was alright, the toppings were really good. There were alot of flavors mixed together but they we're proportioned really well, and nothing was overpowering. The bbq sauce was good and mixed rewally well with everything. The sweet potatoes fries were reccomeded by the bartender and they were delicious. The food gets a 4 star, the staff and overall experience...

Oh this could have been a one star. -Not because of the food, but because of the employee who overlooked eating utensils for delivery to Holiday inn express. I got a large SALAD. After staring at salad for a few moments wondering how I would eat it, I called Hootenannies. Busy girl answered. I get it. Labor day. Closing time. Probably short staffed, I don't know.. She apologized (yes, she was sincere) and transfered me to Manager Mark? He asked where I was staying, room number, and said he'd be right there with utencils. And he was. Less than 10 minutes later. Very apologetic. Brought a delicious dessert...
