My wife ordered a 6” spicy italian with black olives, which she received literally 4 slices of olives (roughly equivalent to 1/2 of a whole olive) She asked for a little more, and was told she can not have any more. I replied it’s fine, you can give her more, we are fine paying for extra, if this is actually required. We were informed, no extras are allowed under any circumstances, that the owner is really cracking down on the use of olives. I ordered a 12” BMT and asked for my olives in a cup, (so I could give them to my wife) I received literally 6 olive slices. (equivalent to 3/4 of 1 olive) I did not ask for more, as the “sandwich artist” had already informed us of the absolute strict rationing order of olives, ordered and strictly enforced by “The Owner.” The “sandwich artist” was working solo and otherwise did a good job. Apparently times are now so desperate, that strict rationing of olives is necessary to the point of counting olive slices. Take from this what you will. This is the very first review I have ever given, and felt compelled after all the petty things I’ve experienced in my life at restaurants, this stands out at the top! After all had I received 4 olive slices, for each 6 inches of my sandwich, like my wife had, perhaps I wouldn’t feel so slighted to the point of leaving a review??? We will never know, as I received only 3 slices of black olive for each 6 inches of sandwich. What concerns me the most is that we are one step away from rationing the salt shaker…. That’ll be interesting! I hope “The Owner.” makes it through this terrible time in olive history. Customer service is dead, and apparently we are now officially in the second Great Depression. Have a great day, and “Eat Fresh!” (No olives were actually harmed in the writing of...
Read moreThe first words I heard today at 5:01 when I walked in was “hi what can I do for you”, the second I heard when I ordered 4 sandwiches for my family were “bulls*”. Afterwards I had very little interaction with the two people working. I understand within the service industry it is difficult sometimes, but this establishment was empty when I came in and no one was there to greet me, which is not a problem for me really. The fact the two people working at 5:01 PM on 6/12 treated me as well as one of their other guests right behind me so rudely makes me reconsider going to subway when there are family owned businesses down the road. To be honest my sandwiches were assembled reluctantly, and the loud sigh when I had a request for one of the sandwiches to have no onion was a tad un-called for. I have been involved in the food and beverage industry for more than a decade, the fact I received a bit of backlash for a dietary restriction doesn’t affect me… but what happens if someone with an allium allergy came in? Do they get guilt tripped for their order? The first associate to address me was the one whom had a problem in my opinion. The second associate definitely tried their best to come out and reconcile as best as they could without causing a problem. However both kept conversing close to one another. An M.O.D. would be a good idea if one of them wasn’t one. Overall some guest retention/interaction training would probably benefit, as well as customer service training. I will definitely be back… but it would be nice if I didn’t feel like I was a problem for being there. Especially if only one sandwich makes a difference in the way this establishments...
