My wife and I decided to give Chicos a try for lunch on one of our trips to stillwater. We were seated promptly and ordered water to drink. Our water arrived with chips and salsa. The salsa was really good with just the right amount of heat that didnt overpower the flavor. Gazing over the menu there were numerous items to choose from. The only problem with the menu was that it was falling apart. Literally the pages and cover had separated nearly 3/4 of the way down the spine of the menu. After a few minutes I ordered the Supreme enchiladas and asked if it came with beans and rice only to find out it didn't. So I ordered a side of rice for an extra 2.99. My wife ordered supreme nachos with a side order of guacamole and Pico de Gallo. The waiter misunderstood and wrote down "no pico" instead, so when my wife's nachos arrived there was no onions or tomatoes on her nachos. Nor did she get get her order of Pico. The food did arrive hot and was nicely seasoned. We asked the waiter about the Pico and soon it arrived. We didn't see the waiter for almost the rest of the meal till we were almost finished. Ot seemed thay they were more concerned with what the manager was doing than the customer. As for the atmosphere, it really wasn't good. The manager was at the front door on his cell phone talking loud anough that anyone within 15 feet could hear him. Next a lady with a crying baby stood next to him while he was on the phone. Then he sat down in the dining room and wrote out checks and conducted business right in the middle of a room with guest eating. That's what office's are for. Overall, great food, the people cooking did great! Service left a lot to be desired. As for atmosphere I found the lack of service and the antics of the manager wishing I had went somewhere else to spend my 30...
Read moreFinally Made it. All the Positive things people had to Say about this Restaurant! Then I show up on a Busy Saturday Late Afternoon. Small wait. Then it Went Straight Down Hill From There. Server or Bus person brings salsa and chips. No Smile. No nothing. Just drop it off and leave. Server Comes. No Smile. No introduction. Just what will you have to drink. Quick Turn around. Again, curt and to the point. No napkins no silverware. First plate comes out. We ask for silverware Server replies I let your waitress know. Now my plate comes out. Still no silverware. Finally after the second Server told our waitress who brought us silverware. Still can't figure that one out. Waitress never came and checked on our progress during our meal. To make a Long story Short! This is an AMERICAN RESTAURANT INFLUENCED BY MEXICAN CUISINE. A CAN OF ITALIAN DICED TOMATOES IS NOT SALSA. EVEN PACE PICANTE SAUCE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. SEASONING WAS AS IF I WAS EATING HOSPITAL FOOD! VERY DISAPPOINTING! WILL NOT...
Read more45 bucks and a bunch of cold food later... my fiancé and I are very disappointed.
Chico's used to be delicious when they were on Washington. Now the quality has gone way downhill! Queso came luke warm, solidifying within seconds of being put on our table. I ordered my usual ACP special (my absolute favorite meal from them) the chicken was bland and not seasoned. My fiancé ordered 2 Chile rellenos that were ice cold in the middle. We made the complaint to the waitress who mumbled a sorry and took the plate away. No offer to remake them no discount on the bill for a plate of food that was barely touched. She rarely checked on us from the get go. She just wanted to rush us along like we were wasting her time. The manager (whom used to be very friendly) never came to apologize or try to make it right.
So here you go Chico's, 1 star. And you pissed of some locals that work retail. Us retailers reccomend restaurants a lot! Guess who we will never reccomend...
