We decided to try out El Tapatio and we’re extremely disappointed. We ordered our 2 kids drinks, our 2 waters and 2 bar drinks. Then we ordered our appetizers which were 2 different kinds of queso. Our waiter took a long time to bring our drinks and when he brought them he only had the 2 kids drinks. We had to wait even longer to get our bar drinks (Margaritas) which were wrong and tasted so bad that we didn’t even drink them. And then finally got our waters. The salsa tasted watered down and there was no salt on the table and we never received the salt we asked for. We also asked for an extra bowl and never received that. The queso with chorizo we ordered was almost all grease and chorizo. There was no visible cheese mixed with it. We asked for the guacamole and jalapeños to be put on the side because my husband doesn’t like it and instead we got extra guacamole and jalapeños on it. It tasted like bland meat even with everything mixed in. Our kids didn’t even eat their plain white queso because it tasted so bland. We were so disappointed with our appetizers that we decided to not even order food. We ran out of chips and our waiter never brought us more or came to check on us. My kids needed more to drink and never got refilled. We were so tired of waiting on chips and the queso got cold so we decided to leave. Despite, standing and putting our jackets on and walking to the front while my husband waited at the table, our waiter didn’t come over to bring us the check. The kids and I went ahead out to the car and the waiter saw us leaving and my husband still at the table but still didn’t bring the check. My husband motioned for him to bring the check and he just looked away. The waiter then helped another table and still didn’t bring the check. My husband had to yell check 3 times till finally the waiter brought over the check. There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant at the time and there were other waiters as well. There should be absolutely no reason for our terrible experience. We will...
Read moreI was by myself and decided that I would stop and grab a bite to eat on my way out of Stillwater. It was around three o'clock in the afternoon, so there was very spacious parking. I walked in and was greeted by a hostess who sat me at a table right away. It was after the lunch rush, so there was not very many people in. Unfortunately, I got forgotten. They didn't informed the girl. That was my waitress that there was a table for her, i guess when you're dining alone, you're not as conspicuous. No matter, I was gonna make the best of it. So when the waitress finally came, I decided to order some chips in queso and guacamole. My gguacamole had a splash of sour cream in it, my basket of chips looked like it had been all the leftover pieces from other people's chips. But at least the queso was delicious. I ordered the quesadilla deluxe with beef. It was good, it's where I ate my queso at did not eat very many chips as it just did not look appetizing because they were all broken and chunks of just small pieces, and I definitely wasn't eating that guacamole, because the splash of sour cream, what else would they have put in it not saying that they did, but you know. Why play with your life. The quesadilla was good. The salad that it was served with was delicious. I poured my queso on top of my rice, which gave it some good flavor and of course you can't go wrong with beans and cheese, so it was okay. I was not about to take the dip with me, and I definitely didn't want to take any to go food. I did ask for a tea to go which I got. I was very disappointed in the food and the service. I mean, my entree was delicious, and I ate all of my quesadilla, but I mean that guacamole. It kind of just set the whole mood. Maybe if I'd gone with somebody else, it would have been a different situation. But since I was alone I tried it out myself, it...
Read moreOur waitress was great. She provided excellent service. I ordered La Hawaiian with just chicken but it came out with steak and shrimp too. She took it back and 2nd time only had chicken but there was a shrimp in there too. My son wanted mexican tacos with no cilantro or onions. They came out first with cilantro and onions. She took them back and they came back 2nd time correct. My daughter 's meal was fine. Her boyfriend is allergic to dairy so he ordered mexican tacos (which do not come with cheese) but his had cheese sprinkled in with the onions and cilantro. We explained that he would have an allergic reaction if he had dairy so it was sent back. It came back a 2nd time. He was a little afraid so he forked through the onions and cilantro and again there was a few pieces if cheese. Our sweet waitress took it back and assured us she would tell the kitchen to make sure no cheese was in there. She said the cilantro, onions and cheese were all next to each other in the kitchen. The mexican tacos came out for the 3rd time and still had little bits of cheese so we decided to skip his meal and get him something from somewhere else after we finished eating. Again the waitress was very nice. Had she not been so nice I would give 0 stars. 3 out of 4 meals wrong. One meal wrong 3 times(safety of customer at stake due to allergy). The service was pretty fast. There were a lot of flies and dead flies on...
