Based on other reviews, I wasn't particularly expecting much from the Stillwater location, yet somehow, my experience was surprisingly unpleasant. The moment my group walked in, the two employees at the register stared at us without a word until the manager, I presume, spoke to us from across the restaurant to tell us he'd be with us shortly before moving on to do whatever it was he needed to do. One of the girls sat us without saying much to us directly, while the other employee just kept staring. Not particularly a great start. We got drinks and our order in without an issue, and the food wasn't particularly bad, just cold. We were hungry, so we didn't complain, just ate. Nothing to write home about, as is typical of IHOP, ya know? The real issue is the staff and their lack of...oh, to nicely put it, competence in how to perform their job with any degree of warmth, skill, or care. The cooks were blatantly staring, pointing, and making fun of our group as we got up to cash out, and when one of us spoke up they ran off to do their jobs all of a sudden. The manager, Ernesto, tried to brush it off as if they weren't—but, he had his back turned to them, he didn't see them and quite frankly I have to wonder how the hell he ended up as management with his incredibly poor conflict resolution skills. I didn't appreciate that in the slightest. It's unprofessional at the very least and embarrassing for him that he can't even hire staff that act like adults or hell, staff that treat customers like humans. If you want good breakfast food without the miserable attitudes brought on by all staff, I really recommend going ANYWHERE else in town because at least they usually have the sense to treat customers like actual people unlike the staff here. My advice? Hire people who know how to treat others kindly, not children who point and stare and laugh because they're immature and bored or hosts who just death glare at you for merely walking in. Actually, hire a manager who doesn't tell the customer they're wrong about XYZ thing when they didn't get the experience the customer did. Tldr; the staff suck and the manager is a real piece of work wanting to argue with customers because he's sorely under qualified for his position. Go anywhere else for warm food and a cup of coffee, this...

Read moreThe food was decent. However the service was absolutely horrible. Nakita was our waitress and she was AWFUL. She never came for refills, she didn’t have a clue what was going on, she didn’t know how to spilt a check and she messed up our orders. I came in with a few friends. We had a table of 7. We all understand that can be a lot to serve and, since we’ve all worked in food service, we came in with patience. However, that patience faded quickly when it took her almost FIVE minutes to bring our drinks. We waited a decent amount of time for the food but then orders kept coming out incorrect. It took 15 minutes to get all of our food to the table which was RIDICULOUS. Then, Nakita never asked if our food was good. She NEVER came around for refills. My boyfriend had to flag her down for a refill and he managed to get one then. However four people sat at our table with empty drinks for over 30 minutes. Then, she asked us about the checks. We’re a party of 3 couples and 1 single individual. She asked if it would be spilt checks, we said yes, but never got the chance to explain how because she sighed and said “oh my God” and then walked off. She brought 7 separate checks to the table. I then tried to pay for mine and my boyfriends, but she only brought the receipt back for his dinner. My boyfriend had to get up, walk over to where she was standing and talking to another waitress, and tell her there was an issue. Not only did I have this issue but one of my friends did as well. Another waitress had to come fix it for us.
I have never had such HORRIBLE service in any restaurant. Nakita was a TERRIBLE waitress. Really put a damper on our night because we had to deal with her being incapable of doing her job. 0/5...
